So after 34 years as an educator in the E.O. school district, she used her crea...view moreNailah Abdus-Salaam is a Believer, Writer, Educator and a Poetess. I enjoy teaching as well writing. So after 34 years as an educator in the E.O. school district, she used her creative skills as both a teacher and a writer to start writing poems and articles and getting some of her works published. She worked with middle schools students to create and publish an anthology book on The African- American Experience In this Country entitled “THE LONG JOURNEY”. Most of her students participated and it was acknowledged and recognized with an award and plaque from the Superintendent of schools, as well as published in the local newspaper. I have previously written two other books that are published, and now this is my third book publication. “The BLESSINGS AND LOSSES WE SHARE”. I’ve had articles featured in Essence, Azizah Magazine, & the Shahada Journal News. My poems are in several Anthologies of Poetry such as “BENEATH THE WINTER SKY” & THE STARS IN MY HEART” and several of my poems are published in the anthology “Scattered Petals”. My poetry was also published in Best Poets and Poems which featured poets and poems selected by the editors of World Poetry Movement. I am also a published author on Timbooktu & was selected as the TimBookTu Featured Writer/Poet for Spring in 2017.
