Knupke became hooked on the history of venues ever since experiencing his first sporting event. It took 20 years of researching to fullfil his vision of what makes a venue tick and the dramas that unfold. Although the original research was lost, he wouldn’t give up the dream. A member of the Society for American Baseball Research, he received a BA degree in journalism from the University of Denver. There he was sports editor of the student newspaper and worked part time on the Denver Post sports staff. He and his wife, Carolyn, live in Fountain Valley, California.view less
