After serving with the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he attended Muhlenberg College, Lehigh University, and the University of Maryland. In 1957 he moved to Maryland to pursue a career in public education and later purchased a tree farm in Dorchester County, where he now lives and writes in retirement. He has authored many popular books of Eastern Shore history and folklore.view less
