He was astory teller from a very young age when his siblings pleaded with him to tell them a story. he was doing a man's work by age 13 and knew how to operate every piece fo farm achinery as well as look after livestock.
He joined the Army in 1943 and seved as an infantryman in the front lines with the Algonquin Regiment in Belgium and holland. On his return to Canada he worked at Vancouver Airport where he took his flying lessons and graduated as a novice pilot. In 1947 he moved to Edmonton and worked in the applianc busines for twenty years. He married Elsie Lyons and they had six children.
At age 40 he went to the University of Alberta and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education. He taught in the vocational department for 15 years before retiring at age 63, He and Elsie moved to Vernon, British Columbia where he took up writing. He wrote many newspaper articles and had the following books p ublished.
