His first published novel, Punk Rules OK, went mostly unnoticed but inspired him to take a DIY approach to the game. With help from his partner who worked at a printing shop, he launched GFY Press and began to write, publish, and distribute a steady stream of novels and music biographies. Incredibly, he found a small measure of success.
After kicking drugs to the curb in 2001, Chris expanded GFY Press to include unschooled troublemakers Simon Snotface, Stewart Black, Drew Gates, and Ali Kat, drawing further criticism from the established literary industry. More than thirty-two titles and twenty-four years later, Chris Walter and GFY Press remain unrepentant and committed.view less
