About this audiobook
We have come to believe that we live on a land planet when the reality is that we live on a water planet, and now the Earth's hydrosphere is rewilding in the throes of a changing climate, taking our species and our fellow creatures into a mass extinction event as it searches for a new equilibrium.
Jeremy Rifkin calls on us to rethink our place in the universe and realize that we live on Planet Aqua. The next stage in the human journey is to rebrand our home Planet Aqua and learn how to readapt to the waters of life.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5"Planet Aqua" by Jeremy Rifkin
Jeremy Rifkin has once again proven himself to be a visionary thought leader with his latest book, Planet Aqua. As someone who has followed his work closely and eagerly anticipated each new release, I can confidently say this book delivers yet another comprehensive and forward-thinking roadmap for the future of our planet. Rifkin’s unparalleled ability to weave together global issues of energy, economics, and ecology is truly remarkable.
In Planet Aqua, Rifkin delves deep into the shifting dynamics of our world as we transition from the fossil fuel era to an era of renewable energy, where water becomes a central element in the geopolitical and economic landscape. Rifkin writes, "Water is the oil of the 21st century," and through his analysis, it's clear why: control over water resources and technologies surrounding water management will determine the future balance of power on the planet.
What I appreciate most about Rifkin's work, and particularly Planet Aqua, is his ability to craft a narrative that not only explains the challenges ahead but also provides clear solutions and pathways for action. His emphasis on the decentralization of energy, using localized water and renewable resources, resonates deeply with those of us invested in energy abundance and the future of sustainable living.
One of the most compelling aspects of the book is Rifkin’s call for global cooperation. He notes, "The future of our planet depends on our ability to collaborate across borders, sharing innovations and ensuring equal access to water and energy." This is a vital message in a world that too often remains divided by national and corporate interests.
Having read every one of Rifkin's books, Planet Aqua stands out as yet another testament to his far-reaching insight. His work consistently challenges us to rethink the systems we have built and to consider how we can leave a better planet for future generations. If you're looking for a book that not only diagnoses the state of the planet but also inspires real hope for the future, this is it.
