About this audiobook
Saint Augustine
Saint Augustine (354–430 CE), also known as Augustine of Hippo, was a Latin philosopher and theologian born on the northern coast of Africa in what is now Algeria. In 386, he had a conversion experience that led him to renounce his career and marital prospects and devote his life to God. His Confessions of Saint Augustine is perhaps the most famous spiritual autobiography of all time.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5How do you write a review of one of the most thought provoking works in Christian literature?
It was fantastic and eye opening. My own ideas and thoughts were met and answered by the book and, I think, some influence of the Holy Spirit. 10/10 will read again.2 people found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an excellent translation of Augustine's Confessions in modern English. I was struck by how modern some of his thoughts seem to be, which I guess only shows that humanity hasn't changed much in its longings , thoughts and needs since ancient times. The book is also well narrated which makes it easy to listen to. This is a book to be listened to a little at a time as there is so much to take in.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Although lengthy and sometimes difficult to follow (especially in the later books), ‘Confessions’ is a fascinating glimpse into fourth-century life as well as an account of God’s grace towards Augustine throughout the entirety of his life.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Excellent reading. Loved it. First half of the book is much better than the second half though (but this is because of the drastic change in topics)
