      A brutal but beautiful read. It's unfathomable that so many people got away with the horrific things they did.

      This was an amazing book. This book brings forth the pain and suffering of so many come to light. She is a brave soul to open up and tell the world about her pain. As well as work so hard for others.

      Hard to stomach the truth in parts but as it happened the story needed to be told. Be strong survivors!

      This brings light to such a sad reality. I appreciated the honesty. Although all a very hard pill to swallow. The lack of support from those who should under all circumstances side with the child until proven otherwise by substantial evidence not just the word of the abusers

      Horrifying story. Incredibly told either great humour at points and heart breaking accounts of complete systematic failure after failure Shy and all the other abused children went through.

      It’s hard to imagine a life like she had! So many teenagers nowadays think they have it so bad ….Shy’s life was a living hell! I am incredibly awed by her strength and endurance and everything she has done with her life despite all the evil she had to deal with.

      I gave it 4 stars only because it is a super hard story to listen to. Your heart will break and might even lose some sleep. but once I started I couldn’t stop. I was just waiting for someone to rescue this poor child. It is appalling how easily authorities believed that an 8 year old was the one initiating anything sexual. WTF or that her injuries were a result of falling down the stairs! ??? these people deserve life in prison and I would fully support further punishment if it were an option. Thank you for being brave and telling this story. ❤️

      If one never understood how sexually abused children end up in foster care, prostitution rings, suicides, life-ending drug use, or even becoming bad parents themselves. Here is a clear narrated true story of how it happens.

      I know there are strong minded great people in this world, but I have to say, Shy is one of a kind.
