About this audiobook
A century ago, scientists theorised that a habitable planet existed in a nearby solar system. Today, ten astronauts will leave a dying Earth to find it. Four are decorated veterans of the 20th century’s space-race. And six are teenagers, graduates of the exclusive Dalton Academy, who’ve been in training for this mission for most of their lives.
It will take the team 23 years to reach Terra-Two. Twenty-three years spent in close quarters. Twenty-three years with no one to rely on but each other. Twenty-three years with no rescue possible, should something go wrong. And something always goes wrong.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Teen drama in space. I found this a bland story where the author does not world build enough. Disliked all characters.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Chapter 30 out of 58 and nothing even remotely exciting has happened. Snooze fest.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5At first, I was intrigued by the concept, but I gave up around halfway, frustrated with the unrealistic concept of sending these teenage misfits to space forever. I wrote a one-star review and thought that was that. Then I went back and finished it on x1,5 speed, and while I still didn't love it, I forgave it. If you can get through the halfway point, I think it's worth a read.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Drags a bit. It is sci-fi in the same way that the book Little Women is historical fiction. Yeah you can call it that but it's more melodrama than anything else

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Very anti-climatic. Long winded character description with not much for character developpement. Was rather disapointed.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a really great audio book. I really fell into the characters. This was one of the most realistic space odyssey’s I have ever read. The way it ended made me think there could be a second part. Fingers crossed that’s the case.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not bad. It's a little YA for me. I wasn't ready for teen drama (my fault). Otherwise well told and a good production.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An emotional journey for 6 young people.
The narrator did an excellent job, and the story was heartfelt. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5A novel with the premise of a sci-fi adventure spends the first 3 hours with bland teenage drama & romance. Couldn’t continue listening beyond that.
Tries to introduce 6 characters using long and inmemorable opening sequences. Totally missing the opportunity to introduce characters using stories of mission training or more dynamic situations. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This novel is full of surprises, real characters who are talented and come with their idiosyncrasies and faults, all set in a fantasy, but believable, context. They are all part of an intense effort to send a small group of teenagers and a few experiences adults to start a colony in an earth-like planet. The trip will take 23 years so the youth will be in their 40s when they arrive and their adult leaders and teachers will be getting elderly.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A well written Science Fiction Drama, hooked me from the start.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Psychological, beautifully human intense and gripping and excitingly wondrous Sci/Fi
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was so thoughtful and gripping loved every second !
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was good to listen to while working. Would have definitely liked more in the end, but open-endedness is ok.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Love sci fi well told story. A little confused about the end
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I try not to leave reviews about books I haven't finished, but I just couldn't force myself to finish this book, even listening on two times speed. What if we decided that for one of the most important missions in human history we chose the least qulified possible teanagers? Not surprisingly, the result is, they have a lot of teenage angst.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing. Multi POV done well. Realistic science. Interesting characters. Great audiobook
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beautifully written. You can almost see the stars, feel the pressure of oxygen on skin, and know that space is only an inch away. It wasn't the story I was expecting either.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very well written. The plot is tight, no gaping holes. Well developed characters and interesting story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5You painted a picture into character development. I enjoyed this story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I accidentally discovered this book as one of the possible books during black history month.
This book is great story. And it also one of the rare books I have came across by western writer where the is no negative digging against Chinese or Russians. The book does not have the same level of bias of exclusivity— towards other nationalities and race. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well-written, good character study. You could tell it was written by someone who survived a rigorous scientific academic program. The reader was excellent.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Can't believe this is a debite novel. The characters are so incredibly well developed, and the story is compelling. Definitely recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5that was complex and took unexpected turns.... a truly unique story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent. Many books I just decide they are not worth my time…. This one was different. Upon choosing book I did not look to see if it was YA Sci-fi or not. It tells stories from every persons viewpoint, deals with mental health, growing up, how we never Truly “grow up” but rather see things in a different light through the years. All that aside from a great space adventure leaving you with hope:) Even through tragedy- hope:) i intimates scenes were well done, not cringy or inappropriate- which I appreciated!! It also is a good lesson in how letting go — does not have to mean forget… quite the opposite. The characters are faced with life and death situations, leaving things/people they love… and it is all very well explained. One thing I liked is that it presented a United front on humanity’s end and gives a good example of how we can still love our homeland while realizing that we are still all just human being who happen to be from earth. I don’t know much about the accuracy of science presented- it’s definitely not hard sci do- but it was believable.
5 stars:) I’d buy a physical copy:)
