    Temi Oh wrote her first novel, Do You Dream of Terra-Two? while studying for a BSci in Neuroscience. It won the American Library Association’s Alex Award in 2020 and was an NPR Books We Love pick in 2019. She has written stories for Marvel’s Black Panther, Dr Who and Overwatch. Her second novel, More Perfect was published by Simon and Schuster in May 2023.Her first short film Murmur was funded by Sky Arts and the BFI. Since then, she has written on the Netflix TV series Castlevania: Nocturne and the CBBC series Silverpoint.

      Teen drama in space. I found this a bland story where the author does not world build enough. Disliked all characters.

      Chapter 30 out of 58 and nothing even remotely exciting has happened. Snooze fest.

      At first, I was intrigued by the concept, but I gave up around halfway, frustrated with the unrealistic concept of sending these teenage misfits to space forever. I wrote a one-star review and thought that was that. Then I went back and finished it on x1,5 speed, and while I still didn't love it, I forgave it. If you can get through the halfway point, I think it's worth a read.

      Drags a bit. It is sci-fi in the same way that the book Little Women is historical fiction. Yeah you can call it that but it's more melodrama than anything else

      This was a really great audio book. I really fell into the characters. This was one of the most realistic space odyssey’s I have ever read. The way it ended made me think there could be a second part. Fingers crossed that’s the case.

      An emotional journey for 6 young people.
      The narrator did an excellent job, and the story was heartfelt.

      A novel with the premise of a sci-fi adventure spends the first 3 hours with bland teenage drama & romance. Couldn’t continue listening beyond that.

      Tries to introduce 6 characters using long and inmemorable opening sequences. Totally missing the opportunity to introduce characters using stories of mission training or more dynamic situations.

      This novel is full of surprises, real characters who are talented and come with their idiosyncrasies and faults, all set in a fantasy, but believable, context. They are all part of an intense effort to send a small group of teenagers and a few experiences adults to start a colony in an earth-like planet. The trip will take 23 years so the youth will be in their 40s when they arrive and their adult leaders and teachers will be getting elderly.

      I try not to leave reviews about books I haven't finished, but I just couldn't force myself to finish this book, even listening on two times speed. What if we decided that for one of the most important missions in human history we chose the least qulified possible teanagers? Not surprisingly, the result is, they have a lot of teenage angst.

      Beautifully written. You can almost see the stars, feel the pressure of oxygen on skin, and know that space is only an inch away. It wasn't the story I was expecting either.

      I accidentally discovered this book as one of the possible books during black history month.

      This book is great story. And it also one of the rare books I have came across by western writer where the is no negative digging against Chinese or Russians. The book does not have the same level of bias of exclusivity— towards other nationalities and race.

      Excellent. Many books I just decide they are not worth my time…. This one was different. Upon choosing book I did not look to see if it was YA Sci-fi or not. It tells stories from every persons viewpoint, deals with mental health, growing up, how we never Truly “grow up” but rather see things in a different light through the years. All that aside from a great space adventure leaving you with hope:) Even through tragedy- hope:) i intimates scenes were well done, not cringy or inappropriate- which I appreciated!! It also is a good lesson in how letting go — does not have to mean forget… quite the opposite. The characters are faced with life and death situations, leaving things/people they love… and it is all very well explained. One thing I liked is that it presented a United front on humanity’s end and gives a good example of how we can still love our homeland while realizing that we are still all just human being who happen to be from earth. I don’t know much about the accuracy of science presented- it’s definitely not hard sci do- but it was believable.
      5 stars:) I’d buy a physical copy:)
