    Maame (ma-meh) has many meanings in Twi but in my case, it means woman.

      This book is amazing, I started reading it when I was happy and then I lost my grandpa midway and I went through the emotions she went through as well.
      The bit about them sending finger and toe nails clippings back to Ghana is similar to what we have to do for my grandpa but we are sending it to nigeria instead. I hope this book is as soothing as it was to me. Great work!!

      I really enjoyed this novel. Maddie’s struggles with mental health, life and relationships was relatable and heartbreaking at times. I loved how her character developed through the book.

      This book was compelling, sincere, and interesting. Maddie’s story feels open almost like talking to a friend. I hope to read more from this author.

      It took me a few chapters to get into this book, but wow once I did it was a great story. I love love love to nice girls finish first. Amazing 10/10 will be reading again. ?

      Love love love! The writing and storytelling in this book is so good. And I appreciate that the mom's accent was very accurate. Really resonated with me as my father is Nigerian. Enjoyed Maddies coming of age story.

      Thorough enjoyed my time with these characters. Maddie, her Mom, her two friends and Sam. Maddie struggled in the beginning, but found her footing in the end.
