      If you're not a big fan of Elizabeth Louise, this narrator will get on your nerves, too. The two of them have the same voice and the same way of narrating.

      The story was interesting but the twists and turns didn’t connect. The characters lacked development. The ending felt abrupt. It sucked me in at first but over time I lost interest. The big twist barely got the attention it deserved. There was too much development in the beginning and not enough at the end.

      Very rarely does a book get to the end and I haven’t figured out the whodunit. This book captivated me to the end. Will definitely be looking for more books by this author!!

      I think part of the reason I did not enjoy this book very much was the narrator. So there’s that. But otherwise it just dragged on and on. I feel like it could’ve been half as long with the same information. And I was not surprised by the end. First book I’ve read by this author.

      Boring. Slow. I skipped ahead when halfway through, we still didn’t ID the dead guy. Too much talk about mundane details like getting the coasters out of a drawer or describing psychological trauma over and over. We get it, the main character is scarred from her experience. The narrator barely gave any emotion to the characters.

      Good story overall. I REALLY hate the foul language, it so rarely does anything to enhance a story. A few twists I didn’t see coming, but overall, it was easy to piece together what happened relatively early. I only had one issue with believing the scenario, but that would be a spoiler.

      Fantastic psychological thriller! Olivia has a new life, far removed from her life as Arden...the 6 yo who was rescued after 3 days of being washed away in a flood. Someone from her past is here and she must now face her past. Fantastic ending that you never see coming!

      Very disappointing! I am a fan of Megan Miranda’s other books but this one was very different. The plot did not flow well, there were unnecessary twists upon twists upt on twists. Then the twist at the ending came out of nowhere with little foreshadowing. It was hard to like the characters, they felt flat and unreal.

      I’m sorry but the premise of a woman having to change her identity bc she was so famous from being rescued in a flood… in the middle of nowhere Kentucky… TWENTY YEARS AGO…no. Just NO. Made it to chapter 7.
      Given this is my second attempt with a book by this author and narrator duo and the last one was terrible, I’ll be adding this to a very tiny list if did not finish.
      The author has a formula.. and she apparently sticks to it… waaaaay too many minute details, parentless young women without friends in isolated houses, are they/aren’t they love interests, and meandering vague uninteresting mysteries that you won’t solve bc you’re not paying enough attention to care.
      The narrator seems pleasant but has an infuriation lilt and her inflection is off - ending sentences as if they’re all questions.
      Can’t do it and recommend you don’t either.
