About this audiobook
"Reader [Barrie] Kreinik differentiates the sisters by giving Fern a crisp, detached tone (fitting with her character) and making Rose sound more emotional. Their Australian accents are charming...Suspense builds as listeners search for the truth beneath the varying stories and plot twists. Fans of unreliable narrators will love this!" -- Booklist
Sally Hepworth, the author of The Mother-In-Law delivers a knock-out of a novel about the lies that bind two sisters in The Good Sister.
There's only been one time that Rose couldn't stop me from doing the wrong thing and that was a mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life.
Fern Castle works in her local library. She has dinner with her twin sister Rose three nights a week. And she avoids crowds, bright lights and loud noises as much as possible. Fern has a carefully structured life and disrupting her routine can be...dangerous.
When Rose discovers that she cannot get pregnant, Fern sees her chance to pay her sister back for everything Rose has done for her. Fern can have a baby for Rose. She just needs to find a father. Simple.
Fern's mission will shake the foundations of the life she has carefully built for herself and stir up dark secrets from the past, in this quirky, rich and shocking story of unexpected love.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely fell in love with the main character Fern. Also Wally was an amazing character. This book didn't feel like a book, it felt like I was there. You could definitely see what was going on way before the reveal. But I think you were suppose to. I got so furious reading this book because it was so plain to see but the characters couldn't. And a book that can make you feel furious, is a great book. 5/5 stars. Loved!

This book was very interesting, the end was so exciting and I couldn't predict it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was predictable, but enjoyable to listen to. I loved Fern and was rooting for her the whole time. As the story unfolds and you start to understand what was going on, it got frustrating, especially coming from a place of experiencing relationships somewhat similar. It’s hard to read and not put yourself in their shoes, but makes the story that much more engaging. I’ve loved all of the books I’ve read by Sally Hepworth, looking forward to my next ☺️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was so good. A true mystery that kept me anticipating each page that I turned. (or next part I listened too) The word perception comes to mind as we all perceive things differently. I loved the characters and the tenacity of those who are not wired like everyone else. Sally did a great job with the character formation. She also did an awesome job with mental illness. I think this has been my best book of 2021. Of course the main character was a librarian. A great read and I highly recommend this one.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What a pleasant surprise of a book. I found it randomly and am so glad I did. The story of two very different sisters had me chuckling out loud at times, and close to tears at others. Fern is especially believable and likable and I grew to love her by the end of the book. Vividly written and well-crafted with just enough of a surprise at the end to keep you wondering.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A story told from two very different points of view, characters at times that are laugh out loud funny, and totally unexpected twists and turns. What is not to love?! Plus the narrator did a great job. Loved this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The main character was so well written, I learned a thing or two about accommodating someone with sensory/social issues in addition to being completely engaged from start to finish!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Better than most family thrillers; well
Written characters and intriguing plot - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book….loved how it kept me interested until the end. Good depiction of people that has sensory issues.

Word the listen. Great. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely loved this book. The character of Fern was so loveable. Even though I knew the story was a mystery, it read like a comedy for the first half. I listened during my shift at work and enjoyed several full on laughs while working. Such an enjoyable story!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow, what a story. The narrator did a fantastic job.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5That was absolutely thrilling! The ending was such a twist! I wish I could forget it just so I could read it all over again!
