About this audiobook
The Vinland Viking Saga: Book 1
History set her fate in stone…Murderer. Mercenary. Temptress.
Trickster. Traitor. Thief.
But under a hammer that falls like thunder, stone will always shatter.
So with her voice she lights the forge.
The Voyage of Freydis sings the silenced tale of Freydis Eiriksdottir, the first and only woman to lead a Viking voyage across the Atlantic in this tempestuous retelling of an ancient Icelandic saga set at the dawn of the 11th century.
Content notice: spousal abuse.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I did not enjoy this book, struggled to finish it. Its supposed to be a feminist book (whatever that means). Its easy enough to follow along with the plot so I'll give it that. I felt sorry for the lead who is the sister of Leif Erikson. Its not a relatable viking story of any kind even though it is littered with Norse references.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I wanted to like this, but the dedication to describing every detail of Freydis’ abuse for 3/4 of the book made it bleak and distressing.
