- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn't realize I had PTSD until I heard this book. I couldn't figure out how to calm myself so I could get to sleep. Now I realize I have been having emotional flashbacks every night of my life since childhood. I also now have the tools to manage them, thanks to this book and Pete Walker's website. I have recently slept 5 nights in a row with excellent sleep and without struggling to get to sleep. Everyone who has had a crappy childhood should read this book!... even if you don't think you have PTSD.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very helpful, triggering, but in an amazing way!
The best thing about it is naming the default messed up experiences that a trauma survivor goes through on regular bases, which helps separating the negative experiences from one’s self.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In the journey from traumatic childhood to fully realized adult, this book is a travelers guide with complete routes and lots of details to experience along the way. It is so worthwhile to have a guide. My copy is tattered and smudged with notes.
