    Readers find this title to have a solid story, but some are disappointed by the focus on a romantic relationship that they feel is not representative of the genre. The relationship drags down the book for some readers. However, others appreciate the dark and intense nature of the story. Some readers also enjoy the narrator.       Story is solid but the relationship is beyond silly and stupid. The relationship drags down the book by a star and a half

      I'm halfway through the book and 80% of it is about a romantic relationship between the lead and a side character. The writing or story isn't bad it's just not what I signed up for or feel is what was represented by the genre and description of the book.

      good story I liked the plot but the power system felt a little vague and rushed so only 4 stars looking forward to the next book!

      I wish there was less fornicating and more cultivating. Only upside is that I like the narrator.

      Ummm... well if you think hate is a good motivator... then this is a good book for you. It's a decent book but dark. I have about 30 minutes to go and considering not finishing the book. If there are more in the series I'm not going to be listening to it.
