The narrator breaths too loud

they keep saying this book is an LGBTQ+ Book and the whole time I was like how then I was like oh.... I guess the main character being asexual could be why they said it was ... So not really any romance fyi....They fleetingly mention a M/M relationship, and one person was called them although it took me a while to notice because they were always in a group. Till towards the end.


But with the barely their romance it's F/M

I'm going to give a 4 but it was more a 3.5

Alright, my review. Initially at the glance of the cover I thought it would be a vampire book. Nope....

Then I read the back and I was like ohhh we're going to have GODS! Nope.

We have an orphan girl who you guessed it a chosen one she has 2 powers chose her and it's very rare for it to happen with gives her the power to both create and destroy.
She's flown under the radar because everyone who wields powers is bound to someone to you guess it control how much and when they can use their powers.

She's caught when she tries to save the man who took her in after she showed up.

Guess who caught her?

The evil blood thirsty prince.

But he doesn't want to bound her he wants her help in closing a door that is about to open and end their world as they know it.

I absolutely adore that this is not a happy ending book. ?

But at the same time I'm happy with the ending. They definitely snuck a plot twist on me. I can usually see them but you got me you sly dog. ?

You know in book how the poor kid loses her mom and want things to be right but they go about a more heroic way .... This one doesn't and I am absolutely giddy about it..... You know what I change my mind its a 4 ??‍♀️ you might not like it but I enjoyed myself and this book has a ton of quotes I absolutely loveeee.

Great magic system but the characterization of the Mc is... strange. All the constant romantic tones without any romance. It's almost like if it's not platonic intimacy she metaphorically rolls her eyes and runs in the opposite direction. Comes off as much of a control freak as Alistars mom. I get that's the point of being asexual but the lack of communication about it just makes her come off as manipulative. My terms or no terms. That'd only detract one star but the dialouge gets really repetitive in some chapters.
