About this audiobook
In the wake of a major loss, five sisters agree to meet on the regular to keep it real. But secrets they never saw coming will challenge them and everything they counted on. Savvy and decisive, Burgundy Reeves feels blessed with a good husband and a successful career. She is the sister everyone envies. Since her beloved mother's death, she's given troubled youngest sister, Elyse, a stable home when she needs it most. And she's taken it on herself to keep her contentious siblings together. Under her guidance, they all meet bi-monthly on "Sister Day," a time when they get together to bond, to receive a challenging "assignment", and to cope with a range of things-including their many differences. Among the sisters' most challenging assignments: tell the truth. But truthfulness leads to an unveiling of secrets that may destroy lives. Burgundy is struggling to show Coco the real deal about her unreliable baby daddy. If she and level-headed Drucilla can also convince hard-headed eldest sister Alita to give Coco more love than tough talk, that might heal a longtime rift. But it's teenage Elyse's truth that will shatter Burgundy's perfect world beyond repair. And putting the pieces back together could make the sisters stronger together than ever-or pull them apart for good.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book had me in the first chapter.....this could be a believable story....can't wait to read the next book ?
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This was one of the stupidest books i've ever read. A slew of loose ends at the end of the book. A Character presented as a bit off mentally and childlike and needing care - but is trusted to drive a vehicle at the end of the book. A sister who's 'drama' is a baby born by someone other than her man and an unborn baby with no resolution. A sister who just found out her husband is a perv - no solution. A random mention of how the mom was not as gereat as they all pretend, no explanation no mention AT ALL or even a HINT previously that mom wasn't great.
Example: Level-headed sis hears about 1 lie that child-like sis told and said it was proof she was a pathological liar.
i won't be picking up anything more by this author. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Grace Hostetler has a secret that she's been hiding since she returned to Holmes County, Ohio four years ago, and it's now about to become known. Will her approaching marriage, and her future happiness, be destroyed? Can Grace convince her fiance Cleon and her family that she thought it was best not to reveal her past?Wanda E. Brunstetter has written a moving tale of Grace's efforts to atone for her mistakes and to create a new life. A Sister's Secret also shares the viewpoints of Grace's two sisters, Ruth and Martha, and I'm hoping to learn their stories in the other books of the Sisters of Holmes County series. Brunstetter once again shows that the Amish aren't exempt from problems and heartaches, but they do rely on faith to see them through, and they also believe in forgiveness and redemption. Fans of suspense will enjoy the mysterious happenings, as they try to solve just who is behind the vandalism in this Amish community. There are no clear answers, so we'll need to read the other books of this series to find out!If you're looking for an intriguing Amish story, this is the book for you. I received A Sister's Secret as a gift and there was no obligation for a positive review.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5awesome book about over coming secrets. How gods blessings can do so much. a mystery is a foot with all the odd stuff going wrong.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a good book. There are three sisters in this family. The oldest one (Grace) is the one with the secret. There have been many instances of foul play, or is it mischief, on their property, someof it very serious. There are any number of suspects but the father won't go to the sheriff because they are Amish and believe that God will take care of them. There are several plots in this book. One thing that bothered me is that even at the end of the book the identity of the one doing the harm to this family was not revealed.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I discovered Wands Brunstetter on a trip to Holmes County, Ohio. I bought the book while I was there and was immediately hooked. If you have ever been to Holmes County, you will recognize several places mentioned in the book.Grace Hostettler shows up at home after a long absence and joins the Amish church. Secrets she thought she left behind suddenly appear at her door and she must explain about the life she lived after running away from her close knit Amish community. A pesky reporter from Grace's past seems to constantly show up when there is trouble and someone out to get the Hostettler family adds to the mix.Can Grace overcome the obstacles in her path? Who is the mysterious person out to harm the Hostettler's?Wanda Brunstetter holds the reader from cover to cover in book one of this three book series.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to start this book, I guess that was around ten or eleven o'clock. Well, that was a mistake, because then I could not stop or go to sleep until I was finished at after five in the morning! This is not a book to pick up and have a short quaint read of enjoyment. It states on the inside back flap that Wand a E. Brunstetter writes about the Amish life, because she likes the simple, plain life. Well, if you are using the general description of their lives, sure. But not the lives of these characters. One thing after another happens in this story to the family Hosteller, and you never expect what is next. There is a main secret, which from the first chapter, I was able to guess, but for many many chapters after that she throws things in that make you wonder. Nothing ends up being what you thought, and after tons of page turning trying to find out what happens, the book ends, with only minimal things resolved, and you're left scrambling to get the next book in the series.Luckily, I checked out both from the library at the same time...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5As I read this Amish novel, I thought that of the four I've read, it was the best. However, when I came to the final page, I had changed my mind.Secrets are dangerous things to keep. Grace, the protagonist, is haunted by the secrets in her past life. She desperately wants to tell Cleon, her fiance, but the time never seems appropriate. One day, the truth is revealed, and Grace's world turns upside down. It is interesting to see the Amish way of forgiveness at work. But does it always apply? Will Cleon be able to forgive and accept Grace? Fortunately, for the reader's satisfaction, that question is answered.Attacks against the Hostettler property cause unexplained damage and increase in intensity. Who is responsible? Throughout the novel, the question is asked over and over and discussed at length. Yet the final page is turned without revealing the answer. Talk about a cliff hanger! This ends so abruptly, this reader is left totally frustrated. If you're a fan of this author, you'll enjoy this one. But when you buy this book, be certain to buy the sequel A Sister's Test. It's the only way you can find out how it ends.
