What our readers think

Readers find this title to be an interesting and twisted story with good twists and a different storyline. The ending is loved by many, although some find it a bit hazy. The book keeps the reader engaged till the end, but some feel that the story focuses too much on only three characters. The use of repetitive phrases is criticized, but overall, the book is considered a quick and entertaining read. It is a mystery that unveils secrets and exposes the unlikeable characters. The scattered information adds to the excitement of discovering the past and present events.

That was just plain farfetched! Not sure how she even came up with that one...

This is a story about a community that generally knows each member until a couple moves into the neighbourhood. At first, the couple seems eccentric until the neighbours receive an invitation to a dinner party and that's when secrets begin to unveil and what seems to be a neighbourhood that knows each other, they were all wrong.

This is another entertaining read from Kiersten Modglin that dwells on a lock-door trope featuring several characters that are quite unlikeable. The story was told from several perspectives and from 2 timelines especially in the latter part where skeletons from the closet of all of the characters are being exposed.

This is more of a mystery than a thriller because I was excited to know who did what and with whom in the past and the present. The author scattered a lot of this information well and that made this a book un-putdownable.

It was a quick read but didn't really like how it ended.

What a waste of time. Very predictable and pretty boring.

I liked the story and I love Kierstens books. However, the use of “I have no idea” was excessive! There are other phrases one can say.

Once again Kiersten Modglin manages to give us a twisted story. Good setting and different storyline and I love that. Definitely didn't seen the main twist coming. Loved the ending.

2.5 rounded to 3. Book is interesting. Much better than good neighbors by the same author. I liked that the author kept it very interesting till the end. The end was a bit hazy though, but somewhat believable. I feel the story in the end was more concentrated on only the three characters and I wanted to know more about how the mystery affected the other two characters. Last chapter was unnecessarily long, and could have ended early instead of dragging it out but I guess author was trying to give it a good finesse. All in all not bad.

You have to suspend disbelief a little. It all ties together in the end. Some good twists!
