What our readers think
Readers find this title to have a different book structure than what they're used to, with some chapters feeling slow and dragging. However, they appreciate the perspective of an AI Captain and enjoy the sci-fi pop culture references. Some readers are cautiously looking forward to the next book. Overall, the book is fair to good and provides an enjoyable reading experience.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5So much profanity - I made it through barely 10 minutes.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Fair to good. I suspect novels set up with AI will be plentiful. But will seem dated soon enough.
It’s an easy shortcut for plot and dialog. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Didn't know what to think about this book when it first started but as it goes on I'm lacking it more and more can't wait to read the other four now
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Funny, fast action, and PG side story of Etheric Federation.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a different book structure than what I’m used to, and I felt like several chapters were nothing but the AI BS-ing with himself. It seemed to drag for a while then was good during an exciting part then dragged again with the story arc progressing slowly. After book one we still don’t know what a katherian is other than some vague descriptions of their tech which annoyed me. It may be that the author planned to tell the story over several books and therefore took his time. Still I like that it is being told from the perspective of an AI Capitan that doesn’t really need a crew but wants one. I also like all the sci fi pop culture references. Cautiously looking forward to book 2
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So far I really enjoyed the book I'm damn sure enjoyed the reader
