About this audiobook

Anthony Astor’s no nonsense attitude serves him well as CEO of his tech company, but it withers his love life. So when a miscommunication has his mother tearfully ecstatic about Anthony bringing someone home, he has no choice but to go along with the ruse.

The solution comes in the form of the kind, clumsy intern, Ben McRobbie. Ben isn’t sure the CEO is for real when he asks him to be his “fake boyfriend for Christmas,” especially after Ben spilled coffee all over him. Nevertheless, Ben is sure that the gorgeous Anthony is serious about giving him a full-time job if he can politely sit through a dinner with the Astors. But as Ben grows closer to his rich, handsome boss, he struggles to remain professional behind the scenes of their fake relationship.

Imogen Markwell-Tweed’s Boyfriends for Now is a charming and endearing romance about embracing love, wherever you find it.

What our readers think

Readers find this title to be a cute and wholesome gay romance with likable characters and character growth. The story is sweet, short, and heartwarming, with no annoying subplots. While some readers found flaws in the editing and writing, overall it is a satisfying and feel-good read. The fake dating trope and the relationship between a rich and an average guy were appreciated. The supporting characters were inspiring and the audiobook narration was enjoyable. The ending was a bit abrupt for some, but it didn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.

Some editing issues with the audio (duplicate words/phrases). But it’s a cute novella with compassionate characters.

Short and sweet. Relatively simple but very heartwarming. A little short for my taste but it did make for a nicely paced love story- it didn’t feel like a ‘will-they-won’t-they’ for long at all, which I appreciated.

Cute and entertaining. No sex scenes but in my opinion this short story didn’t need it. It does cover emotions and reactions.

This is one of my favourite tropes in gay romance. Fake dating enables the characters to test the waters out "romantically" while knowing the other person on a deeper level.

The story is quite short and I would have liked it better if its a bit longer. The author could have injected more scenes that would test the "relationship" between the two guys. I also like the trope of a rich and an average guy falling for each other which again, could potentially have more scenes that will test whether what they're starting to develop is real or not.

What I also like are the supporting characters who show their support for the two main characters. The acceptance and love of these people are very inspiring and should be emulated by all.

Another cute novella by Markwell-Tweed. Really wholesome characters with character growth. Cute and wishfulfilly.

Once again had a few tropes I wasn't happy about (boss/employee, age gap, and "rich people don't have loving families").

Loved the book but just as it was getting good it jumps to a year later and then ends.

I love these type of romance stories but the writing for this book was not good. Storyline seemed underdeveloped.

The story was ok, cute at times, but unfortunately there were some flaws (repititions) in the narration.

There was a story-line/plot NOT centered around sex scenes. For me that's a real bonus!

Loved it. I would have liked to see a more detailed description of the end, which sounds hurried.

    Sweet story I loved it!

The actual audiobook needed a little editing as some parts should have been edited out when narrator stumbled over words and then reread the sentence. But it didn't take away from the story at all.

Narrator sounds familiar - am I correct in saying he was one of the fan narrators for the Worm Audiobook project??

Beautiful, sweet, and short. Packs a big punch in a small package that is both breathtaking and hilarious. The banter and characters are all immediately familiar and likable. Definitely worth at least one listen.

Another heart-warmer from IMT, this time with opposing s attract and festive fake dating excellence. I loved seeing Anthony’s growth throughout this as he fell for Ben, and Ben was just a little cinnamon roll I want to protect forever and ever. A short, sweet, queer read perfect for the Christmas season. ?

This book was my cup of tea. I love how Anthony was like a cool CEO that no one can break but when he was with Ben, he was like a three year old who saw animal balloon out of amusement park. (At least that's how I see and it made the story breathtaking) was sweet, nice and heartwarming, I thought they wouldn't be together because of Anthony's parents but I am so glad it was a happy ending?☺ cuz I was going to cry, oh my God I'm so happy.

Thank you for your hard work.?

There are so many fake boyfriend storylines out there; this one is nice. But not that special. There's quite a lot of errors in the editing of the recording tho. I wonder why.

A good-hearted book with pleasant themes, but a tedious plot (and I’m a fan of fake holiday boyfriends, etc.), clichéd characters, and too much belaboring of boring details and rushing through or skipping the interesting and important elements. Beyond that, the audio narration had a bunch of mistakes in it—repeated lines, etc. It was weird. It was as if it hadn’t been “proofread.”

I really liked this book! I'm glad Anthony and Ben made their relationship official in the end and decided they loved each other.

I read this book on June 29th, 2022.

Dennis Adams did a really good job performing this story! I thoroughly enjoyed his narration.
