PRINT OPPORTUNITIES

Balestier Press

Balestier Press is a UK imprint which aims to publish the best and most original voices in contemporary world literature, humanities and social sciences, writes Gary Dalkin.

The Press is committed to promoting diversity in publishing, with a particular focus on Asia, and strives to publish exceptional works that contribute to crosscultural understanding. They welcome submissions of original manuscripts in fiction, poetry, short stories, graphic novels, creative non-fiction and memoirs.

Submissions should be made by email to editor@ balestier.com. Attach your manuscript, a separate synopsis, and a cover letter explaining how your publication contributes to cultural diversity in writing and publishing. In addition, provide your full name, address, phone number, email, and a brief bio. Manuscripts must be primarily in English. However, Balestier Press also encourages pitches for publication of translated works. If you have a proposal for a literary translation you are encouraged to send a synopsis, a sample translation, and details about both the author and translator. Send to the same email address above.
