TABLE TENNIS’ NEW MATCH

Li Sun has been appointed head coach of China’s national table tennis team.

Li, 59, started his sports career in 1977 and began coaching Team China in the 1990s. As a trainer, he has mentored Grand Slam winners Wang Nan, Zhang Yining and Li Xiaoxia. He has been head coach of the country’s women’s team since 2017.

He was on the list of coaching staffs for the national team at the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil, in 2016 and Tokyo, Japan, in 2021.
