African Prodigy
I thoroughly enjoyed Gregor Woods’ two part summation of Steve Edwards’ epic journey down the Zambezi to the sea. The courage and dedication needed to complete that journey, mostly solo, is awesome.
The Zambezi has attracted adventurers since David Livingstone first stood and marvelled at “The Smoke that Thunders”.
For those interested, I can recommend a book written by Mike Boon who made the solo journey from the source of the Zambezi, just inside Angola and near the border with Zambia, all the way to the sea at a place called Chinde on the and was published by Struik in 2007, ISBN 978 1 77007 484 2.
