THE END OF PORBEAGLE FISHING?

Porbeagles are one of the most iconic shark species found in UK waters. Closely related to, and resembling, the great white shark, they can migrate vast distances each year to feed and breed. They have been caught by anglers for as long as anglers have set out in boats. Reaching lengths of over 11ft, the official British record of 507lb was caught from Scrabster in Scotland in1992, although bigger fish have almost certainly been caught and released since. However, it may not be long before anglers in England and Wales mare prohibited from targeting these magnificent fish.
