THE BUTTONHOLE FOOT

In this workshop, Simply Sewing’s Senior Technical Editor Roisin explains how to use a nifty duo – the button and buttonhole presser feet.

THE BUTTONHOLE FOOT

THE BUTTON FOOT

This nifty foot has a wide front for stitching through the holes in buttons.

Reattaching a button that has pinged off is a seemingly simple task that, once complete, can leave you either ready to conquer the world or ready for a lie-down. Today a button, tomorrow a wardrobe full of tailor-made clothes – a girl can dream, right?

Stitching a buttonhole, on(!) parts. That said, I don't want you to avoid these really handy stitches! Buttonholes can take your dressmaking to the next level, and as with any stitch, all it takes is a little bit of practice.
