USE THE MELODIC MINOR SCALE

It’s very common for you and I to see harmony and theory in black and white.

Two plus two equals four—and that’s the end of the debate! However, as bass is a melodic instrument, it’s essential that the pitches we choose to play continue to uphold the harmony—otherwise entire compositions can be misinterpreted, or worse still, have the potential to collapse.
