Come on in - The Water’s Fine!

Watercolour is not scary. Watercolour is wonderful. Don’t be put off by the stigma attached to this incredible medium. When one decides to purchase their first watercolour kit, they are entering a world of unexpected surprises. Water has a tendency to find its own path and when colour is added to it on a sheet of paper, the colour follows that path creating amazing effects...this is the glory of painting in this medium. In watercolour painting you will find that water really does flow uphill (up the page that is). Watercolour paints are transparent (with the exception of Chinese White which is opaque) which gives a myriad of creative effects. You can put down layer upon layer of colour over your work to indicate shade or light by ‘overpainting’ your piece.
