A NEW ME

Rolling my eyes, I couldn’t help but giggle a little.

It was Christmas Day 2003, and my husband Ken, 54, was glued to his new toy – a PlayStation he’d been begging me for.

‘Aren’t you a bit old for that thing?’ I laughed, picking up the trail of chocolate wrappers he’d left in his wake.

‘I’ll never be too old for this,’ Ken grinned, barely moving his eyes away from the screen.

Ken and I had met back in the 70’s at a local pub.

I’d headed there with my mate Jennifer for their Monday night live music session, and as we were leaving, an unknown man tapped me on my shoulder.
