Athens traffic disrupted by Tour of Hellas cycling event

Traffic restrictions are in place across Attica on Sunday due to the final day of the Tour of Hellas cycling race, sponsored by Public Power Corporation (PPC).

The race runs from Marathonas east of Athens to the center of the capital between 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m., passing through areas including Rafina, Lavrio, Sounio, Glyfada and culminating at Syntagma Square.

Full road closures, parking bans, and stopping restrictions are enforced along the route. Key affected roads include Marathonos Avenue, Leoforos Vouliagmenis, Poseidonos Avenue and Syngrou Avenue.

In central Athens, closures extend to Amalias Avenue, Vasilissis Sofias and around Syntagma Square.

Measures are active from early morning to late afternoon. Only emergency vehicles and race organizers are exempt. Drivers are urged to avoid the affected routes.
