51 migrants found on Cretan beach

A total of 51 migrants, among them four women and six children, were found on a beach in southern Crete on Friday night. They were located on a beach in the Tris Ekklisies area in the Archanes-Asterousia municipality, in Iraklio prefecture. The migrants have been transferred to an accommodation facility.

Auditors of Contract 717 prosecuted for misconduct

The Athens Prosecutor’s Office is prosecuting two inspectors at the National Transparency Authority concerning the investigation into the delayed implementation of Contract 717 of ERGOSE, the projects branch of Hellenic Railways (OSE), which has been causally linked with the railway collision in Tempe in central Greece in February 2023 that cost the lives of 57 people.
