Tosin Cole's Michael has been working double time on Netflix's Supacell trying to desperately save his fiancée Dionne's (Adelayo Adedayo) life.

The delivery man turned super-powered human hasn't known a moment's peace since his future self popped up to tell him that love-of-his-life Dionne would die if he failed to unite four other, newly powered individuals in a fight against the 'hooded figures.'

Together Michael, Andre (Eric Kofi-Abrefa), Sabrina (Nadine Mills), Rodney (Calvin Demba) and Tazer (Josh Tedeku) must find a way to stop their mysterious enemies from capturing them and claiming Dionne's life.

In the penultimate episode, Tower Boys gang leader Tazer narrowly escapes being taken by the hooded villains and just when it seems he's about to be overpowered, he finds himself backed by Michael, Sabrina and Rodney.

With four of the five members united, can Michael achieve his goal of defeating the hooded figures and saving Dionne?

Here's what happened in the finale of Rapman's gripping Netflix sci-fi show.

Supacell ending explained

After a tense showdown where everyone gets to show off their elaborate superpowers, Michael and his team (and we use that word tentatively) manage to escape and find respite at Sabrina's house, but tensions are running high.

The four barely know each other and each has their own crazy personal troubles to contend with. Super-speedy Rodney is still reeling from best friend Spud (Giacomo Mancini) being put in a coma, Sabrina's younger sister Sharleen (Rayxia Ojo) is missing, and Tazer is eager to kill gang rival Krazy (Ghetts), who also happens to be responsible for Sharleen's disappearance.

Life's pressures bubble over and eventually, Tazer is the first to split when he gets a call from Krazy calling him out. "A-Town, 8pm," Krazy instructs.

Tazer reluctantly passes on Krazy's location to Sabrina before disappearing (literally, because that's his superpower). With the help of Rodney, Sabrina finds out that A-Town is Ashington Estate – a place where anything goes down, so you know that can't be good.

Meanwhile, Michael gets a worrying call from Dionne and teleports over to – wait for it – Ashington Estate, where she is.

Over the course of the six episodes, Dionne has sussed that Michael has been keeping something from her since becoming powered.

His reluctance to share the news about her fate turned Dionne into a bit of a sleuth. She's been investigating the disappearance of powered people and all her research has led her to Ashington Estate, where she was told the abducted powered individuals were being kept.

It isn't long before the two are joined by Sabrina and Rodney, who are on the hunt for Sharleen and – after some driving around the estate – the foursome find a hidden passage that leads them to a place that can only be described as junkie city.

The drug den is overrun with addicts and dealers, including Andre's good-boy son AJ, who has clearly slid down the wrong path and ended up in Krazy's gang, plenty of whom are loitering in the den.

A hot-headed Sabrina goes to confront Krazy about Sharleen using her powers, which sends everyone scarpering except Krazy (and Michael and co, of course).

Having left Dionne safely in the car, Michael goes to help out, but is blasted back by one of the hooded figures.

Who are the hooded figures in Supacell?

Krazy and other super-powered individuals are the figures behind the hood, but let us break down how that shocking piece of information came to light.

After dusting himself down, Michael stands shoulder to shoulder with his powered team ready to face off against their foe.

Against her better judgement, Sabrina instructs Krazy to stand with them, where he'll be safe. However, that's when he reveals the truth: he is one of the hooded figures. In fact, by the way they defer to him, he seems to be the leader.

To add more devastation to the steaming pile of upset, Andre has been persuaded to join them.

When last we saw Andre he had been captured by a hooded figure and delivered to the mysterious man in charge known as Ray (Eddie Marsan).

Ray explained how their gifts, termed 'supacell', are a mutation of sickle cell and were passed on from a parent or parents who had the disease.

He went on to offer Andre a job using his gifts to bring in other powered people (like the ones we've seen trapped in their facilities) under the guise of helping them control their abilities, making them safe enough to re-enter society.

Working for Ray would give Andre the money he desperately needs to provide for AJ – a tempting alternative to being broke and losing contact with his son again.

The ultra-strong Andre becomes an asset to Krazy in the fight that inevitably ensues, but we won't give a play-by-play of the epic, EPIC showdown that followed these bombshells. For that, you're simply going to have to watch. Anything else would be a disservice to its brilliance.

Though we will say that while Krazy's gang seemed to be wiping the floor with Michael's, things turn around in the back half.

Just when Tazer is about to deliver the fatal blow to Andre, Michael (man of many powers) freezes time, preventing his death.

He then wakes Andre to appeal to him, and it's then that Andre reveals he was persuaded to take their side after they threatened his son. Seeing the violence and chaos caused by Krazy's gang and ruminating over his part in things is enough to persuade Andre to switch sides.

As Krazy is moments away from killing Tazer, Andre intervenes, saving his life.

Michael finally has the team he needs and they work together to defeat the hooded figures, leaving Krazy as the last man standing.

In a seemingly desperate attempt, he offers up Sharleen's whereabouts for his freedom and tells Tazer about how the mysterious organisation killed his mum to earn their trust. All they need to do is let him get the device in his pocket to open up a portal that will lead them to Sharleen.

Of course, no-one's falling for that so Rodney zips over to get it himself – but when he does, Krazy uses his own gift of temporarily mimicking powers to steal Rodney's super-speed ability and slice them all to death with a blade.

In his dying moments, Michael sees Krazy approaching the car with Dionne safely inside, ready to end her life.

Does Michael save Dionne in Supacell?

With 'a mother lifting a car off a baby' type of energy, Michael summons all his will into using the one aspect of his gift that he has struggled to control: time travel.

He goes back to the moment before Rodney races over to Krazy to get the knife, and instead teleports behind Krazy and stabs him multiple times.

Before he dies, Krazy's weakening hands happen upon a gun and he shoots aimlessly at them, missing the core five.

The stray bullet finds its target behind the windshield of the car where Dionne is sitting. She stumbles out bloody and eventually dies in a distraught Michael's arms.

Who is in charge of the hooded figures?

That's what Michael is determined to find out. Not long after Dionne's death, he calls a meeting with Andre, Tazer, Sabrina and Rodney.

Having lost hope of bringing Dionne back to life he vows that he will go to the future to find out who is responsible for killing her, who has taken Sharleen – and who Ray is. Armed with enough information, he means to come back and claim his revenge.

Meanwhile, we already know who's been pulling the strings. Remember the warm, overly-pleasant Victoria (Siân Brooke) from the sickle cell centre, Health and Unity? Well, it turns out she's not as well-meaning as she pretends.

In the final moments, she orders the kill on Krazy who – surprise, surprise – manages to escape long enough to be healed by a captured powered girl. Shame her life-healing abilities went to waste when Victoria ordered Krazy to be gunned down for failing her.

The scene ends with Victoria chastising Ray for failing her, too.

"Against my better judgement I allowed you to do things your way," she tells him. "Now, we do things my way," she adds while zooming in on a photo of Michael on a tablet.

Ray's horrified face coupled with Michael's bitter hatred lay the grounds for a pretty eventful season two of Supacell.

All episodes of Supacell are available to stream now on Netflix.
