Welcome to DISD Health Services
Welcome to Health Services for Denison Independent School District. This web site was created for Teachers, Parents and Students. Please take the time to view the various links which contain valuable information. If you have any health related questions or would like any additional information regarding health issues, please contact your school nurse. School nurses monitor required immunizations, mandated health screenings and health trends on the campus. Communication with families is important, parents are asked to keep the Student Health & Emergency Information up to date with current contact number, allergies and medical needs.
The nurses of Denison ISD Health Services believe that a student’s health status has a direct impact on the ability for one to learn and meet educational goals. Denison ISD has a nurse at each campus.
School nursing supports student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children and staff within the school setting. The school nurse serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, community and healthcare providers to advocate and facilitate the educational process. The school nurse also provides for the safety of students and staff and addresses the need for integrating health solutions into the education setting.
