Crown is a beatmaker from France who has been active in the hip-hop scene since 1997.
Active since 1997, he started out as a DJ and appeared as a scratch artist on numerous mixtapes and albums until he started producing in 2003.
His meeting with the Belgian rapper Scylla led to his first collaborations, which did not go unnoticed, such as the famous MC vs Beatmaker clash or the tracks "SCY", "BX-VIBES"...
Crown met Saké from Les Zakariens in 2005 through Templar from Ulteam Atom.
This was to be followed by many years of collaborations as a duo, including the tracks "On Veut Du Rap" and "Le Maximum". Half of Saké's discography is produced by Crown.
The associative label Just Listen Records was created in 2007.
2010 will be the year of release of his first beatmaker opus "Just Listen", a project initially started with his early partner DJ Nefast with whom he had released "Sang9" in 2002.
The same year he founded the beatmaker collective "Grim Reaperz" with whom he co-produced numerous ep's in vinyl format.
His second producer album "Pieces To The Puzzle" was released in 2014 with numerous international collaborations such as PMD, Masta Ace, Paloalto, SonReal, Scylla, Akhenaton, Flynt....
The following year, with his sound engineer SoundSizer, Crown opened an associative recording studio under the banners of the label Just Listen Records in Montélimar.
The aim was to record, accompany and develop young artists from the Drôme/Ardèche region. A professional studio accessible to all.
From 2015 to 2018, many collaborations will take place.
Saké and Crown will work on the reworking of the album "pièces d'orfevre" at Just Listen Records, with a release in 2020 which will see him producing half of the album as well as directing and co-executive producing the project.
2021 Crown produced the album "Untilted" for Rhyme-A - a far from mainstream South Korean artist.
After the pandemic, "Underground Crown" will be the album of connections, a project that will bring together over 60 American artists, mainly from New York.
2023 will be the year of the French rap releases, with a brand new project "Game Of Crown" gathering many French-speaking artists.
An ep with the young promising MC CHOLO and the close collaboration with Templar from Ulteam Atom will sound like a proof that Crown is in great shape after 20 years of production!
