-Tidningen SjuJazz pianist Mathias Algotsson was born in 1971 and studied at the Royal Music Conservatory in Stockholm 1992-96.
Since then he has been a sought after pianist performing around the world with artists such as Barbara Hendricks, Magnus Lindgren, Rigmor Gustafsson, Margareta Bengtson (the Real Group), Svante Henryson among others. Mathias has a great ability to move between different genres and contexts and is also a appreciated and renowned composer. He has written music for choir, for instance for the Sofia Vokalensemble, Gustaf Sjökvists and S:t Görans chamber choirs and is published on Gehrmans Musikförlag. Mathias has made six albums in his own name so far, for example two trio albums on the japanese label ”Spice of Life” and latest ”Home at Work Again” with his own quartet, plus a number of solo piano singles and EP´s and have also achieved the Arne Domnérus award ”Guldsaxen” as the only non-saxophone player.More info at: www.mathiasalgotsson.com
