Emmerdale legend in danger after returning to the village as Caleb Miligan story takes dark twist
Emmerdale is set for a dramatic week following a legend's return
Emmerdale viewers were treated to the return of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) on Friday evening (April 11), with a week of high drama set to ensue.
Joe, who first graced our screens in 1995 as the offspring of Chris Tate (Peter Amory) and Rachel Hughes (Glenda McKay), made his exit from the Dales in 2018. However, he made an unexpected comeback at Christmas, revealing weeks later that he was in dire need of a kidney transplant.
In a desperate move, Joe enlisted Dr. Crowley's (James Hillier) help to carry out an unlawful organ transplant from his half-brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham). When their plan fell through, they targeted Joe's half-uncle Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
In chilling scenes, Caleb was stabbed before Dr Crowley harvested his kidney for Joe.
While Caleb recuperated in hospital, Joe vanished from the village to recover from the major surgery. But it seems his actions haven't gone unnoticed, reports Leeds Live.
In the coming week, Joe will attempt to rekindle his romance with Dawn Fletcher (Oliva Bromley) following their secret affair at Home Farm.
Joe implores Dawn to confess her lingering feelings for him, but she is taken aback by the sincerity of his plea.
As Joe pleads with Dawn to leave Billy (Jay Kontzle) for him, will she shatter her husband's heart and tear their young family apart?
However, Joe may have more pressing concerns when Caleb begins to suspect his recent activities.
Caleb quickly understands that he needs to keep a close eye on his potential enemy. He invites Joe and Noah for a meal, hoping this will lower their defences.
Later in the week, Caleb's suspicions about Joe persist and he sets a plan in motion. At the depot, he deliberately damages a light fixture in the office, aiming to get some alone time with electrician Noah.
Seizing the opportunity, Caleb probes Noah about Joe, but how much information will Noah divulge?
As regular viewers of the soap opera will recall, after being drugged by Joe, Noah had a vague memory of lying in a hospital bed with his brother's face looming over him.
Caleb continues his detective work, delving deeper into his doubts about Joe, but what secrets will he unearth?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
