Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Chris Stapleton top list of CMT Music Awards nominees

The 2016 CMT Music Awards nominees were announced on Monday.

And on top of the list were American Idol alum Carrie Underwood and relative newcomer Chris Stapleton.

Vets also got acknowledged, including Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban and Luke Bryan.

Underwood, Shelton and Stapleton were named for Video Of The Year.

Also on the list are Cam for Burning House, Florida Georgia Line for Sippin’ On Fire, Jason Aldean for Tonight Looks Good On You, Urban for John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16, Little Big Town for Girl Crush, Luke Bryan for Strip It Down, Sam Hunt for Break Up In A Small Town, Thomas Rhett for Die A Happy Man and McGraw for Humble and Kind.

Female Video Of The Year went to Cam for Burning House, Underwood for Smoke Break, Jana Kramer for I Got The Boy, Kacey Musgraves for Biscuits, Kelsea Ballerini for Dibs and Maren Morris for My Church.

Fan voting begins immediately on CMT.com, and will continue on through June 6 at 12:01 a.m. ET. 

The actual awards show itself will be hosted and broadcast live from Nashville on Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT.
