Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast are asking people to work for free on their Wizard of Oz showpiece 'precinct'.

The movie theme park advertised for 'riders' willing to be filmed while taking a spin on two of their featured attractions - the Kansas Twister and the Flight of the Wicked Witch.

Filming was set to commence on Thursday morning, with 'riders' receiving just a  single day pass to Movie World as compensation.

An adult day pass to the popular amusement park usually costs $109 for adults and $95 for children.

According to a post, which featured on Movie World's Facebook on Wednesday, the filming was open to families and children.

Those participating must be at least 120cm tall and had to remain until 'the end of filming' to receive their free pass.

The post received an enthusiastic response, including one person who had experienced filming at the theme park.

He said the shoot usually starts at 6.30am and runs for a 'few hours'.

'Once everything is done, as you leave, you will get your name checked off and will receive your single ticket,' he said.

'Bit of notice would have been amazing! I'd have taken the day off work ha ha,' another fan posted.

However, one fans expressed disappointment at the single day pass 'freebie'.

'I miss the days when you received an annual pass for the filming ....a day pass, yeh nah...,' they wrote.

Named after a character who featured as a villain and rode on a broomstick in the original Wizard of Oz movie, The Flight of the Wicked Witch is another major Movie World feature.

This all new suspended ride takes passengers through a 'haunted forest' before it soars to a height of 19metres.

Travelling along a 453 metre track the ride hits speeds of up to 67km per hour.
