Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood confirmed he quietly married his longtime partner Mette-Marie Kongsved.
While appearing on the latest episode of the Inside of You podcast with Michael Rosenbaum, the actor, 43, referred to the film producer, 33, as his 'wife' as he gushed about feeling 'beyond grateful' for her as well as his 'family and kids.'
The remarks come after sources recently told TMZ that the couple 'got married in Sweden on New Year’s Eve in what was described as an intimate ceremony with about 80 friends and family members.'
The pair, who have been romantically linked since 2018, welcomed their first child, a son, in 2019, and a daughter, born two years later.
They have not publicly disclosed the names of either of their children.
Wood is believed to have originally met Kongsved back in April 2016 on the set of Netflix's Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, which she produced and he starred in.

They waited, however, to make their first public appearance together until 2019 at the Rodarte fashion show.
Mette-Marie also produced Wood's films Mandy (2018), Come to Daddy (2019), and the upcoming adventure movie Bookworm directed by Ant Timpson.
She was previously married to director Evan Louis Katz, but they split in 2016.
In 2023, Wood opened up about the birth of their second child and the early mornings that come along with parenthood.
'I like getting up early, I like starting the day,' he told WSJ. Magazine in 2023, after noting he gets up between 5:30 and 6:30 every morning.
For breakfast, he likes to make his family 'oatmeal with various spices, peanut butter and fruit—banana, apples, blackberries.'
'I also really like overnight oats or muesli with yogurt, and I sometimes eat that with them,' he added.
Additionally, the star said becoming parents changed their relationship.

'You're constantly being challenged, in the best way,' he raved. 'It's as much my own personal growth as it is about my child's growth..'
The Iowa-born actor also told the outlet that he loves taking an active role as a father from sleep training to packing school lunches for his little ones.
And while Wood has amassed millions of followers on Twitter/Facebook, he revealed he has a private Instagram account to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.
'I wanted to be able to share photos that I didn't necessarily want to share with the world,' Wood explained.
'An account that's public-facing would really change what I share. It's not like I'm sharing anything that I wouldn't want to go out, but I'm a relatively private person.'
Upon learning he was going to be a father, Wood previously said during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers that he hasn't 'had a cigarette since then.'
It is unknown when or if Wood and Kongsved are legally married, but they have sparked engagement and marriage rumors since she began wearing a diamond ring on her left finger back in 2019.
