Yellowjackets star Samantha Hanratty welcomes her first child with husband Christian DeAnda

Samantha Hanratty has welcomed her first child.

The Yellowjackets star - who announced in August she was pregnant - had the baby with her husband Christian DeAnda. 

On New Year's Eve the 29-year-old posted the happy news on Instagram.

'And just like that…my world got brighter☀️ 12-31-24,' Samantha said in her caption.

There was also a black-and-white photo of her newborn son holding her finger.

Samantha and Christian, who was in the movie The Suicide Squad, got married in Paso Robles, California in November 2023 after meeting on the dating app Bumble in 2020. 

In September she said her son would be born with a cleft lip and would get several surgeries after he was born.

In the caption of her TikTok video, Hanratty penned, 'Baby update! We cant wait to meet our sweetheart♥️ thanks for following along with this unpredictable, incredible, and wild journey!' 

She added n the comment section, 'Grieving not being able to breastfeed but I'm coming to terms with it. Hearing other people's stories especially with nursing is helping a lot♥️.' 

Samantha jumped to her main Instagram page to upload two snaps as she posed in the same ensemble from her recent TikTok video. 

She gently cradled her burgeoning stomach and flashed a cheerful smile as she sat against a wall outdoors. 

The star typed out, 'My son, for almost 23 weeks we have grown together. It's an honor to hold the space you grow in.'

'It's not been an easy ride but with every movement you remind me it's all going to be okay. Your dad and I love you so much, there aren't words.' 

In August, Hanratty announced that she is expecting her first child and uploaded an emotional clip to Instagram to share the moment she found out she was pregnant.

At the beginning of the reel, the actress took a pregnancy test and later tearfully revealed that it had come out negative. 

However, she soon took another test and filmed herself in the bathroom as she waited for the results to come through. 

Upon seeing the test come back as positive, she threw her hand to her mouth and repeatedly said, 'No way,' while holding up the test towards the camera. 

In the caption, she wrote, 'Still in shock and its been 4 months! I will be sharing more from my journey because it has been a wild one! Come follow this new adventure #pregnant #pregnancytest #fyp.' 

At the time, social media users jumped to the comment section to send their congratulations over the big news. 

One fan penned, 'Misty going to have a baby?' referencing to the star's character in Yellowjackets. 

The Flash actress, Kayla Compton, wrote, 'You're going to be the best mom!' while her Yellowjackets co-star Melanie Lynskey added, 'Love you,' followed by red heart emojis.
