Transfer Deadline Day RECAP: Host of late deals are announced as Mathys Tel is CONFIRMED, with Axel Disasi's loan switch to Villa one of several Chelsea moves left past deadline

That, one and all, is that.

A month and a bit of dealings have been completed - pretty much. We're still waiting on a few announcements...

Tyrell Malacia to PSV, Willian to Fulham and Joao Felix to AC Milan are all expected to be announced tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have until 1am to get their move for Axel Disasi over the line, while we're still awaiting clarity on Mathis Amougou to Chelsea and Marshall Munetsi to Wolves.

I'm also hearing from Simon Jones that West Brom have put a deal sheet in to sign Adam Armstrong from Southampton.

Nonetheless, this live blog is over. Thanks for your company, it's been quite the journey, and we'll go again in the summer.

Hardly ever do we see Man City spend in January. It's pretty much unheard of. But not this month.

It appeared that they moved their summer planning forward, making four signings in total.

Victor Udoh has joined Southampton at the final hour.

The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal. He will 'initially' join the Under-21s side, the club have said.

After international clearance is approved, he will join up with the Saints.

Everton have confirmed the signing of Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo.

The former Southampton man joins on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy.

Big move for the Toffees.

A post-deadine double swoop for Blackburn, who have strengthened their attacking options with moves for Emmanuel Dennis and Cauley Woodrow.

They are fifth in the Championship.

We have passed 12am, which was the deadline for the deal sheet transfers for European deals.

We should have updates on some deals very soon. The domestic deadline is 1am.

Nottingham Forest moved late to agree a loan deal for Manchester City winger Joel Ndala.

The 18-year-old has been on loan at PSV. Forest have a buy option of £4million plus a 20per cent sell-on.

Just a few minutes left now until the deadline hits for deal sheets that went in for European transfers. And we still await the announcements of many.

Could be a chaotic few minutes. But still we wait.

Still, what a great transfer window. Some really surprising deals, from Rashford, to Tel, to Manchester City going mental in January.

It sets up a really exciting end to the season.

We're waiting on news of Axel Disasi, but there's another Cheslea departure to report with Harvey Vale exiting Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old, who is an England Under-20 international, has penned a permanent deal at Loftus Road.

He almost left in the summer. Now he has.

Right then. I make it a few that we are waiting on - Disasi, Malacia, Willian, Felix, Amougbou, Alcaraz.

Malacia and Willian will probably be tomorrow. We also think Felix will be announced tomorrow. But the other three, we are having to wait and see.

A couple of announcements from Wolves too maybe.

Another one that was pushed through late - Jeffrey Schlupp has joined Celtic.

Loan deal until the end of the season. A former Premier League winner, of course.

It's likely he will fill in at left back, where Celtic have been struggling for options.

Ben Chilwell is about to play football again.

Exiled by Chelsea, he has played just 45 minutes of competitive football this season.

But now he has joined Crystal Palace on loan. He will be battling Tyrick Mitchell, but is set for plenty of minutes at Palace.

The deal sheet is in for Carlos Alcaraz to Everton. We have been sure of the move all day and it's still looking likely it will happen.

A bit nervy now, but still expecting everything to go through.

It's done. The biggest sage of the window is done.

It was Bayern. It was Spurs. It was United, Chelsea, about a million other sides. But now it's Tottenham again.

Spurs have announced the loan signing of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern unitl the end of the season. In the summer, there is an option to buy, believed to be in the region of £50m.

He will wear the No 11 shirt.

Spurs have their man. Big move.

As I mentioned earlier, clubs can earn two-hour extensions for domestic transfers.

That requires a deal sheet, signed by all necessary clubs and parties to get an extension until 1am. It's 12am for domestic transfers.

So we are still waiting on the likes of Tel...

A Premier League icon, for one reason or another.

Michy Batshuayi, once of the likes of Chelsea and Palace, moved onto Frankfurt before the closure of the window.

He joined from Galatasaray - contract until 2027.

That's your lot.

Over a month of work, and some deals left to the last-minute. But the transfer window is over for another winter.

More announcements to come, potentially. Extension requests could come in.

Nico Gonzalez has joined Manchester City in a four-and-a-half-year deal.

City finally have their midfield solution after months of struggling in Rodri's absence.

The 23-year-old become's City's fourth signing of the window.

Out of nowhere, really, Bournemouth have signed an attacker.

It's one for the future, with Eli Junior Kroupi joining the Cherries from Lorient in France.

He will head back across the channel for the rest of the season on loan.

Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, who was recently dealing with a long-term injury, has joined Standard Liege on loan in Belgium.

Aaron Ramsdale is the Saints' No 1. Bazunu looking for first team football.

The 18-year-old signed for £25.5m in the summer, hasn’t started a single Premier League game and reportedly could have left for half the price eight months later with Shakhtar Donetsk tabling a bid of £12m that was rejected. Porto also made an enquiry for Guilherme but no formal offer came.

If anything summed up the chaotic mess of the Hammers’ £130m summer transfer fee, it was that.

Well, he’s just come on for West Ham at Stamford Bridge so doesn’t look he’ll be going anywhere by 11pm!

News from Europe, with Andre Silva, once of Milan and Porto, joining Werder Bremen on loan from RB Leipzig.

There were reports he would be heading to West Ham, but they have instead signed Evan Ferguson of course.

Somto Boniface, who has represented England at a number of age groups, has left Chelsea to join Ipswich.

He hasn't yet played for Chelsea, and is expected to be involved in Ipswich's youth team too.

I didn't think I'd be mentioning my team Gillingham tonight, but we are about to sign someone important!

That someone is Dominic Corness, who plays for Liverpool's Under-21s.

He will move to Priestfield on a deal until the end of the season following a spell in the Swiss Super League.

Ipswich have completed the signing of Alex Palmer from West Brom.

'I felt it was the right time,' he says.

With Muric out of form and Walton injured, I'm sure he'll be their new No 1 for the foreseeable.

Felix is cutting a cool figure after landing in Milan to join AC on loan from Chelsea.

He has been a bit all over the place in recent times, with his move to the Blues in the summer only coming about so Atletico could sign Conor Gallagher.

Really hope he kicks on in Italy.

Bar any shock development, no shiny new forward is expected to be joining Arsenal in this transfer window.

It’s a blow for their supporters. There was an expectation that the north London club would bring in a player from abroad on loan but that has so far not transpired.

The squad does look short up top and the hierarchy know so, hence why since Gabriel Jesus’ injury earlier in January they have been on the hunt for a striker.

It does not bode well for the Gunners and makes the gap between now and Bukayo Saka’s return all the more vulnerable for them.

Reports are suggesting that Emmanuel Dennis, who has been pretty much exiled from Forest this season, is heading to Blackburn.

The New Zealander will return to Reading on loan for the rest of the season.

It has been a very interesting few days. It looked like he had rejected the chance to go to Spurs. Maybe he was sounding eveything out, he is still only 19.

It is a great fit for bothaprties. He needs game time and where Spurs are at now, anywhere across the front three, he can play in any of those positions, and hopefully it will be good for Spurs.

Harrison Armstrong has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Everton before joining Derby on loan for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old midfielder has shown impressive progress this season, making his debut last year, and will now head out for his first loan move.

There are reports that Tottenham's move to sign Tel WILL include a buy option.

That's pretty big. A successful season could lead to a great purchase in the summer.

Slightly odd considering he didn't want to go thee a few days ago, but there we go.

An overlooked aspect at Arsenal is the lack of loan moves sorted for their academy prospects.

Maldini Kacurri is joining Bromley on loan, but that is it. No more of Arsenal’s academy players are heading out. The likes of Ismail Kabia and Charles Sagoe Jnr could have really done with a stint elsewhere for their development.

Particularly in the case of Sagoe Jnr, who returned from an underwhelming spell at Shrewsbury last month.

With the Gunners out of the FA Cup, first-team game time will likely be non-existent for these youngsters.

Crystal Palace completing final paperwork ahead of confirming Ben Chilwell's loan move from Chelsea.

Straight loan with no option or obligation to buy. No other incomings expected at Selhurst Park tonight.

Axel Disasi to join Aston Villa on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season. Loan fee of about £4.5-5million.

That's why he wasn't heading to Tottenham.

Newcastle defender Lloyd Kelly completes a loan move to Juventus. Obligation to make permanent for £20million in the summer.

That will conclude NUFC business for the January window.

Former Leicester and Manchester City man Kelechi Iheanacho has headd to the Championship.

Iheanacho, 28, joined Sevilla in Spain from Leicester in the summer, but has struggled, in all honesty, and has been announced as Middlesbrough's new striker on the eve of them kicking off against Sunderland in the Championship.

Nottingham Forest's Lewis O'Brien has joined Swansea on loan.

He enjoyed a fair amount of Premier League football when the side were first promoted, but has fallen down the pecking order and won't get a sniff now with them hunting Europe.

Feels a good move for all involved.

Fulham are interested in bringing Willian back to the club.

The winger is a free agent so a deal can be completed beyond tonight's deadline.

He made 67 appearances for Fulham between 2022 and 2024, before leaving for Olympiacos.

The 36-year-old, though, could soon make a return.

One man who is leaving Chelsea, however, is Carney Chukwuemeka.

The midfielder has moved on loan to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. It's never really worked out for him at the Blues - but now he will have the chance to show his stuff in Germany. They got the move over the line.

'He will now continue his development in the Bundesliga with Dortmund and we look forward to supporting Carney during his loan,' Chelsea say.

It was on, then it was off, then it was on... now it's off again.

Axel Disasi will not be joining Tottenham today, despite the injury to Dragusin.

Whether that means he'll go elsewhere, we don't know, but it won't be a move across London.

Aston Villa have confirmed that Asensio has joined on loan from PSG until the end of the season.

With 38 caps for Spain, he is comfortable in pretty much any forward area, but plays best behiind the striker.

Villa have some serious depth now. They have Watkins, Rashford, Asensio, Malen, Rogers, Bailey, Tielemans, Ramsey...

Seriously impressive stuff.

A busy day at Villa.

Travis Patterson, a 19-year-old left back, has left for MK Dons, joining the League Two club on loan.

Wolves have had a €15million (£12.5m) bid rejected for Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen.

Vitor Pereira's side have been keen to strengthen in defence in the transfer window after a difficult first half of the season, and have been bidding for the likes of Conor Coady and Kevin Danso.

They latest offer has gone in for Kristensen in Italy, but that has been rejected.

I think it was needed after the comments of the manger, there was no way back. He would have wanted to relaunch his career.

He is going to a very good team, currently better than Man United. He is going to work under a manager who will give him real insturction, he needs that. He needs that detail in his game.

It looks like it will be difficult for a way back under Ruben Amorim. But don't rule anything out, if he tears it up at Aston Villa, it could happen, but the ideal situation is he goes and thrives. It is a sad thing for me. He has the talent to play for United.

Leicester's deadline day has been more focused on outgoings rather than incomings - a bit bizarre considering the position they're in, but as you were.

Talks over a swap between Conor Coady and Craig Dawson with Wolves died out, while a loan offer from Sunderland to take Kasey McAteer for the rest of the season has been rejected.

He's made 15 appearances for the Foxes this season, mostly from the bench.

Christopher Nkunku had been linked with a move away from Chelsea this window, with Bayern Munich in particular interested.

But a move never materialised, and he is in the squad for tonight's game against West Ham.

A big keep for Chelsea, I'd say - especially if Felix leaves.

A Brighton winger has left the club. No, it's not Kaoru Mitoma going to Saudi Arabia, but Caylan Vickers departing for Mansfield.

The 20-year-old has joined the League One club on loan having joined the Seagulls this time last year.

He's been in good form for the Under-21s - let's see how he can adapt to senior football.

John Egan, formerly of the likes of Sheffield United and Brentford, has left Burnley to join Hull City.

The Irish centre back joins for an undisclosed fee, and will help City in their relegation fight having been unable to get in the Scott Parker's side, which has an oh so impressive defensive record.

A great signing for the Tigers.

Carlos Alcaraz is on Merseyside and having his Everton medical ahead of his move back to the Premier League.

Still only 22, he is returning to England having previously played for Southampton.

A decent coup for the Toffees, with Dwight McNeil still out and David Moyes hunting for a midfielder.

Championship club Middlesbrough are showing an interest in doing a late deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton.

Morton stuck around at the Anfield club in the summer despite mass interest from sides in England and on the continent — Bayer Leverkusen were one of those pushing — but has hardly had a look-in aside from the Carabao Cup.

Boro, who have Liverpool’s Ben Doak on loan, are keen on him on a permanent deal. Michael Carrick’s team play rivals Sunderland tonight.

Manchester United have confirmed there are no further incomings expected before tonight’s deadline.

The club went into the window with the view of adopting a sensible and financially disciplined approach to incomings and outgoings.

The football leadership group and coaches say they are pleased with the business done - in Patrick Dorgu, Ayden Heaven, and Diego Leon (pre-contract): talented, young players bought for the long term without high fees.

The club enquired for Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku but were not prepared to be reckless or take expensive risks with high loan fees for unproven young players with no buy option nor were they attracted by developing players for competitors.

They maintain their stance offers broader scope for summer window where there are better opportunities available for players that fit their long-term plans; anything spent in January would have reduced their summer budget.

United are working within tight financial constraints and PSR limits; all the changes they are making are to enable investment in football; which is why they continue to examine options to reduce costs and raise revenues.

Haven't seen too may of these this month (good evening, Liverpool fans), but Rangers have picked up a player on a pre-contract agreement.

Lyall Cameron will move to Ibrox when his contract is up at Dundee in the summer.

The 22-year-old will essentially be Rangers' first signing of the summer.

Anonymous, London: Tel says no to Spurs, waits for another bid from another club. It doesn’t come, now he’s heading to Spurs! I’m not a Spurs fan, but that’s a kick in the teeth from the start.

DreamTrain, London: Embarrassing window for Chelsea, didn't address the goalkeeper,central defender or striker..but chasing an unknown 19yr old French midfielder whose been on loan at Las Palmas.

Moody, Kent: The only signings Liverpool need is Virgil, Salah and Trent.

Darlek75, Stourbridge: Liverpool should keep Danns a good player to have as a backup, especially in the cup competitions, to give others a rest!

We're running a bit starved in terms of completed deals. The calm before the storm, perhaps.

There's lots going on. Tel, Asensio, maybe one or two surprises.

The clock has ticked past 6pm now, so less than five hours remain. 11pm is the deadline, remember.

As Mail Sport said earlier today, there’s no more business expected at West Ham tonight. Evan Ferguson has joined from Brighton on loan until the end of the season. James Ward-Prowse has returned from his loan at Nottingham Forest after the two clubs agreed to terminate the deal.

That's it unless something remarkable happens but with a game at Chelsea kicking off in a couple of hours the chances of that happening are very small indeed.

The pursuit of young Celtic striker Daniel Cummings is now expected to happen in the summer after the Scottish club rejected two bids this morning and West Ham now working on a pre-contract agreement.

I don't think Hammers fans should be too disgruntled. Graham Potter didn't want the club to sign players for the sake of it and they've ended up with a striker he knows well in Ferguson to help ease the attacking injury burden and a midfielder, a position they were looking at in the window, with bundles of Premier League quality and experience and, therefore, no risk at all.

Manchester United's fears have been realised, with Lisandro Martinez out for the rest of the season, reports have suggested.

The defender went off on a stretcher against Crystal Palace, and it has been reported that his ACL has been torn.

United, though, aren't expected to go into the market for a replacement.

Manchester United left back Tyrell Malacia is in talks to join PSV Eindhoven on loan.

The Netherlands international saw a move to Benfica fall through at the weekend after saying his goodbyes to team-mates on Saturday along with Marcus Rashford.

He has also had interest from Celtic and Real Betis.

In League One, Birimgham have exercised the option to sign Taylor Gardner-Hickman permanently.

The versitile star has played 29 times for the third division leaders this season, mostly in central midfield or at right back.

He had been on loan from Bristol City, but the move is now permanent.

Birmingham are romping to the title, and this will give them another boost.

We'd be very, very surprised if Alejandro was to leave United at this point.

It had, at one point, seemed as though his time at the club was up, with both Chelsea and Napoli talking to United. But nothing transpired.

After he was left out of the team for the Manchester derby a dozen games ago, Ruben Amorim has been very complimentary of the forward in terms of his training standards and ability to play in his system.

Reborn? Maybe.

Chelsea have recalled forward David Datro Fofana from his loan spell with Goztepe SK in Turkey.

He made nine appearances for the club, scoring twice. He has played just four times for Chelsea.

Back on loan tonight? Maybe. Feels a pointless one if not.

Everton made a late enquiry for West Brom winger Tom Fellows but he looks set to finish the season at the Hawthorns.

Brighton are keen on signing the 21-year old but most likely in the summer.

In Aston Villa-related news, Cher Ndour has completed his permanent move from Paris Saint-Germain to Fiorentina.

That frees up an international loan for the French champions – which should be that of Spanish forward Marco Asensio, who should join Villa until the end of the season.

If the Asensio deal is completed, it will be fascinating to see how Unai Emery plans to divide playing time between him, Rashford, Watkins, Rogers and Malen.

Sunderland goalkeeper Nathan Bishop had dropped down to Cambridge on loan for the rest of the season.

I actually first saw Bishop in action for Southend a few years back when he was a teenager before he moved to Manchester United.

I was really intriduged to see how he got on there, but he never made an appearance and signed for Sunderland.

Now, though, he will likely get game time in League One with Cambridge. Plenty of time for him to shine yet.

We're still waiting on confirmation of Mathys Tel's sensational move to Tottenham to be confirmed.

We know the 19-year-old has landed in England to get the deal over the line. It comes after he rejected the north London club earlier this week in terms of a permanent move.

It seems like every club and their dog have been interested in his services, with Tottenham winning the race.

We know things can still go wrong at this stage, however, so it's not over until it's over.

Celtic have opened talks with Crystal Palace over a loan deal for Jeffrey Schlupp.

Schlupp has played 16 times for Palace this season, but it's first choice. He can fill in just about everywhere, from central midfield, to left back, to out wide.

He's been with Palace since 2017, making 247 appearances for the Eagles.

Ipswich Town are signing West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer in a £5million deal.

Arijanet Muric has struggled since his move from Burnley in the summer. Christian Walton, meanwhile, is injured.

Palmer could well go into Portman Road and be No 1. But they will at least have cover.

West Brom, meanwhile. are signing Danish striker Tammer Bany from Rangers for £3m.

I think the manager is running out of ideas. What he has done with Rashford is mind-blowing. I think his job is on the line with Rashford.

If he gets 10 in 10 you would be seriously asking questions, what are you doing?

United need a big strong lad up front. They should go and get Mateta. But they won't because he plays for Palace. He is 100 times better than what they have at Man United, apart from Diallo.

Dario Essugo, 19, has spent the season on loan with Spanish outfit Las Palmas and has impressed with his displays in the heart of midfield throughout 2024-25.

The young midfielder has scored one goal in 14 matches during his time in LaLiga and has drawn the attention of Chelsea.

Mail Sport understands that the Blues have enquired over Essugo's availability as they look to bring in a midfielder during transfer deadline day.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have also agreed a deal to sign Mathis Amougou from St-Etienne ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.

'Never say never, but very unlikely' is the latest I'm told on Tommy Watson and Brighton. It would appear the teenage winger will be staying at Sunderland.

Time will tell with this one. It is up to Marcus Rashford. If it is the Rashford of a couple of season ago, it will be thrilling for Villa. But he seems to have been a disruptor to the last two managers so maybe the move will do him good.

It's up to him. On a loan deal, he is on a sort fo trail period. If he does well and knuckles down, it will suit both parties. He has to work hard and take the opportuntiy to get his career back on track.

A few deals are on the edge of going through right now, but there's still plenty to do.

Chelsea have agreed to sign St-Etienne midfielder Mathis Amougou.

The 19-year-old has played for France at Under-18 level and is set to join Chelsea in a deal worth over £10 million.

Joao Felix has left Chelsea to join AC Milan on loan, despite only joining over the summer in a £42.7million deal. Not exactly the textbook definition of shrewd business.

As one fan writes on X (with different figures to Mail Sport's): 'Joao Felix going on loan should immediately cause some heads to roll internally. You cannot spend €57m on a player, hand them a 7-YEAR contract, and then send them on loan six months later because they aren't good enough. Where is the accountability?'

Mail Sport understands that his Chelsea contract six-year deal with the option of an extra 12 months, so there is plenty of time for reparations.

Reports in Turkey claim that Galatasaray have agreed a deal to sign Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina.

He follows in the footsteps of names such as Jhon Duran, Dwight Yorke, Andy Gray, Johnny Dixon, Peter Withe, and Marlon Harewood.

In other news, I’m setting off for Stamford Bridge so let’s see if the Blues are any closer to a signing by the time I arrive.

At this point I’d be very surprised if Man City didn’t add Nico Gonzalez to their squad by the close of play and it will take January spending to around £175million.

Just a small few details to tie up before they can crack on with formalising the deal. Midfield's been a major problem area for Pep Guardiola this season and this signing would prove a huge boost in their quest for the top four.

The consensus from Everton's backroom team is there are no quality strikers available at the right price in this market who will come in and improve the team so therefore there is little point in spending money for the sake of it.

Everton have Chermiti coming back in 3-4 weeks, while the news on Armando Broja is also more positive than initially thought (four to five weeks) while Dominic Calvert-Lewin should also be be back before the end of the season.

A couple of fringe players from the U21s could be going out on loan.

Midfielder Harrison Armstrong is one to watch with a number of Championship clubs looking for a late loan.

As it stands, Everton are unlikely to add any more signings once Carlos Alcaraz is confirmed.

SAMI MOKBEL: AC Milan have turned down an enquiry from Crystal Palace for centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic. Deal off as it stands.

The deals are picking up now so here are a few to report from the lower divisions:

• Arsenal have loaned out defender Maldini Kacurri to League Two side Bromley.
• Chelsea wing-back Caleb Wiley has joined Watford on loan.
• Preston North End have signed Watford defender Ryan Porteous on loan until the end of the season.
• Free agent Adam Reach has joined League One promotion chasers Wycombe Wanderers.
• Brad Hills: Norwich to Stockport on loan.
• Alfie Chang: Birmingham to Walsall on loan.

Evan Ferguson says he’s relishing the chance to work with Graham Potter again after completing his loan move to West Ham.

Hammer boss Potter handed the Brighton striker his debut on the south coast and will work with him once again until the end of the season.

West Ham are understood to be paying Brighton a loan fee for Ferguson and covering his wages with no option or obligation to buy in the summer.

‘I can see and know how big West Ham is,’ Ferguson told West Ham TV. ‘It was a big opportunity for me to come here. I know the gaffer well and look forward to working under him again.

‘I want to come in and do my best for the club, score goals, and see where we get to.’

He is not eligible to face Chelsea tonight.

Chelsea have spoken to Sporting Lisbon about-19 year-old midfielder Dario Essugo, who has been on loan at Las Palmas.

Chelsea want to add another midfielder before 11pm.

He was Sporting's youngest league star, youngest Champions league star, and youngest to ever to start a game for them.

He also has two league titles and a relegation on his CV.

The news that Mathys Tel is on his way to Tottenham makes any chance of an incoming signing for Arsenal now a slim one.

Again, as seen with the Raheem Sterling deal, which only got off the ground in the early afternoon on the summer window’s final day, a new forward for the Gunners could still be signed on loan. These situations move fast. But the Tel news makes that prospect even further away.

Joao Felix is expected to be left out of Chelsea's squad for West Ham today as his agent Jorge Mendes is working hard to get him to AC Milan.

I'm told – but not yet had verified from Chelsea side – that a loan offer has gone in for Joao.

Right now, I'd say he's more out of the door than in it, but big work to do on it. What a strange signing that has been, if indeed he does leave. Signed for £46.3million, spend six months in the B team, then potentially leaves.

Meanwhile, Caleb Wiley's loan to Watford has now been confirmed by Chelsea, so that frees up an extra international loan slot as reported earlier.

He was being chased by Chelsea, Manchester United and others. Quite a coup!

Sky Germany reports that Mathys Tel is on his way to Tottenham to seal a loan deal.

That would be a sensational turnaround as we understand he snubbed them on Friday! Deadline day has sprung up a mighty old U-turn, it would seem. Stay tuned.

And it would be a blow to Manchester United and Chelsea, seeing a Bayern Munich star they wanted choosing a rival over them.

England star Angel Gomes will stay put with Lille until the end of the season and then leave on a free, as per The Telegraph.

I’m told Caleb Wiley’s loan from Chelsea to Watford is going through as planned, with an announcement to follow today.

That frees up an international loan slot for the Blues as he was previously with their sister club Strasbourg in France.

Here’s an interesting one. Conor Coady is one of Wolves’ best-loved players of modern times and he could be on his way back to Molineux from Leicester, with Craig Dawson heading in the opposite direction.

Discussions are underway between the two clubs. Coady is comfortable in a back three, which Vitor Pereira prefers, while Dawson would give Leicester the sort of defensive commitment they have been sadly lacking.

Leeds are continuing to chase Southampton striker Cameron Archer.

Marcus Rashford has reportedly been told that he can resurrect his England career by Thomas Tuchel.

A source told The Sun: 'Tuchel told Marcus and his representatives he saw Marcus as an essential part of the England squad going forward.'

You imagine his form and game time on loan at Aston Villa will factor into that, but at least it gives him a carrot to chase.

I think this would be a good move for Jayden Danns. He's clearly shown his potential in his Liverpool cameos, so let's see what he can do with more minutes under his belt.

As CRAIG HOPE writes: 'Jayden Danns is currently at the Academy of Light and Sunderland expect to complete a loan deal from Liverpool in the coming hours.'

By my count, no deals have been confirmed in the last couple of hours across the Football League. Lots of deals are in the works but we'll have to wait a little while longer for absolute certainty. Get your act together, negotiators!

Manchester United, Manchester City, and Nottingham Forest have been linked with signing former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz from Juventus.

The Brazilian joined Juve in the summer.

However, as SAMI MOKBEL reports, a deal is looking 'difficult'.

Our chief football reporter writes on X: 'Douglas Luiz anticipated return to the Premier League looking difficult.

'Manchester United have an interest but prospect of any agreement with Juventus not close.'

Crystal Palace defender Rob Holding is in talks to join Sheffield United.

The 29-year old former Arsenal centre back has struggled to make an impression under Oliver Glasner despite Palace searching for extra defenders. He figured for the club's U21s against Norwich City last week pictured).

LUKE POWER: Holding has only made one appearance since leaving Arsenal for Palace in the summer of 2023, and has not featured at all in the Premier League, after a reported falling-out with manager Oliver Glasner.

He could now be parachuted into the Championship promotion battle.

Middlesbrough have rejected an offer in the region of £10m from Porto for midfielder Hayden Hackney.

Portuguese club would have to go a fair bit higher for deal to happen.

Evan Ferguson is closing in on a loan deal from Brighton to West Ham.

It's safe to say Paul Merson and Tim Sherwood are left unimpressed by Manchester City's pursuit of Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez.

As Mail Sport reported earlier, the move hinges on whether City can negotiate the Portuguese down from a £50million release clause or pay the money.

Sherwood told Sky Sports: 'This boy is going to be a massive risk. He won't play and they'll end up shipping him out again.

'What are they signing him for? Unless they're going to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League, they've got nothing else to play for.'

Merson told Sky Sports: 'If they buy this lad, they must be panicking to get in the top four. '

Southampton forward Adam Armstrong could leave the club today. I understand there is interest from Leeds and Middlesbrough.

Sunderland sources have played down their interest, but that could change if a loan deal for Liverpool forward Jayden Danns hits a snag.

I know there will be plenty of EFL fans reading so here are a couple of deals we haven't mentioned today.

• Notts County have signed Mai Traore, a forward from Norwegian club Fredrikstad, for an undisclosed fee. He won the Norwegian Cup last season. County sit third in League Two.
• Bradford City have signed Peterborough United defender Romoney Critchlow. He is their fifth signing of the window as they target promotion from League Two, currently sitting seventh under Graham Alexander.

Peter Odemwingie went into deadline day folklore with his car escapade, and here's an update from CRAIG HOPE as Sunderland's Tommy Watson takes his own trip down the motorway...

CRAIG HOPE: A further update on Tommy Watson and Brighton. I’m told the teenager is travelling south today in the hope of a deal being agreed with Sunderland.

As it stands, that has not happened. Sunderland want a replacement and have asked for Simon Adingra. This is a moving situation (quite literally in terms of Watson and his car journey).

He's been one of the most courted men in the Premier League in recent windows - Newcastle had four bids rejected for him in the summer - but Crystal Palace look set to keep hold of Marc Guehi, as our very own Sami Mokbel reports.

A huge boost for Oliver Glasner if they can, with the Eagles putting together a nice run in form.

They rejected a bid from Tottenham last night. Spurs have tried again today but to no avail.

Arsenal academy winger Ismeal Kabia will be staying. Club were initially looking to loan him out with interest from various clubs, including Championship side Portsmouth.

He made his debut for the Gunners in September, coming on as a substitute in the 5-1 Carabao Cup thrashing of Bolton.

Wage split for Ben Chilwell is understood to be around 50-50 for him to go on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, as reported earlier, Christopher Nkunku is expected to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Here's a pearl from Paul Merson and, to be honest, I don't think it's a bad shout. Sometimes the unglamorous option pays off.

He says United should sign Jean-Philippe Mateta, who has 13 goals this season and bagged twice yesterday at Old Trafford.

'He's at the top of his game, he leads the line, he's a handful, he works his socks off, but they won't because he pays for Palace,' Merson told Sky Sports.

'He's 100 times better than the other players in the front line apart from Amad. They're playing Mainoo up front!'

There are now reports in Poland and Italy that Southampton have rejected an offer from Roma for Jan Bednarek and the Italian club are looking elsewhere.

We flagged their interest first earlier this morning.

Tim Sherwood - admittedly of Tottenham affiliation - tells Sky Sports it's 'impossible' for Arsenal to sign anyone who could win them the title this season due to their points gap to Liverpool.

They're six points off the pace and the Reds have a game in hand.

Is there any point in splashing the cash now, Arsenal fans? Is this season already a write-off?

Some would say no, especially given they qualified for the Champions League last 16 in third place in the group phase.

Joao Felix's agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly pushing the Chelsea outcast to sign with AC Milan ahead of the January transfer deadline.

Mendes has flown to London for talks with the west London club in an effort to convince them over a loan deal to Milan until the end of the season, although the Serie A side are understood to be unwilling to pay the star's entire salary during that period.

In addition, Milan reportedly have no interest in paying a fee for the potential six-month loan deal.

Given that Chelsea are eager not to let Felix leave for nothing, Mendes has jetted to the English capital to try and find a comprise between to two clubs, according Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Arsenal are leaving their transfer business to the final day once again.

Last time out, over the summer, they signed Raheem Sterling on loan in the final minutes of the window.

That move has yet to pay dividends. Today will again go down to the wire.

If a deal is to be done, a loan from abroad for a forward is the route they will almost certainly go down. It can’t be a loan signing from the Premier League, having used their allotted two on Sterling and goalkeeper Neto.

Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, who is being monitored by Chelsea and Manchester United, too, tops that list.

Still nothing moving on Mathys Tel and United as it stands.

Mail Sport reported on Sunday how talks had hit an impasse, despite being encouraged that he wanted to join them, and that a loan deal had become 'unlikely'.

Tel rejected Tottenham on Friday while Arsenal remain in the background for a deal.

Bayern are however in talks with Arouca to sell Taichi Fukui permanently, he was loaned out, and free up a potential international loan spot for Tel in case of a deadline move.

Nothing moving for Tyrell Malacia either just yet.

Born in 2005... man, that makes me feel old.

Will Alves, 19, has joined Cardiff on loan from Leicester City.

He is well thought of at Leicester but has only managed five first-team appearances, so this is a case of getting experience in his legs.

Alves debuted for Leicester aged 16 in 2022 and was rewarded with a new four-year deal over the summer.

One to keep an eye on.

Well, the likelihood of all these fans being doctors or nutritionists is rather slim, in fairness.

And by the standards of the vast majority of the population, Marcus Rashford is likely in much better condition.

But supporters who have kept an eye on his loan unveiling at Aston Villa fear he looked 'rough' and 'going through it'.

We’re expecting a relatively quiet day at West Ham.

Ward-Prowse is back from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest and Evan Ferguson will complete his own loan from Brighton later today.

Other than that, club insiders have told Mail Sport they do not expect any other business today.

They play Chelsea tonight and want deals wrapped up early.

There’s been talks for Celtic striker Daniel Cummings but that’ll likely have to wait for the summer with the Scottish giants not wanting to sell today.

But this is West Ham, after all. Dramatic things can happen.

It's been a busy last couple of days for Brighton - hanging on to Mitoma, allowing Barco to leave on loan, and letting go of Baker-Boaitey.

Well, we can now add defender Ruairi McConville to the list of departures. He joins Norwich for an undisclosed fee.

'I'm very excited. I feel it's the right move for me at the right time. I'm buzzing to get started and to get in and meet everyone,' he said.

Facundo Buonanotte is an interesting one.

The Argentine attacker is open to cancelling his loan arrangement at Leicester and returning to Brighton, who would then loan him out again.

That would allow Leicester another Premier League loan. But there’s not long left and may be tricky to find a solution for Buonanotte that suits everyone.

West Ham have confirmed the return of James Ward-Prowse from his loan at Nottingham Forest. There was no recall option in the deal until the summer so both clubs have agreed to cancel the loan prematurely and send him home.

Graham Potter rates Ward-Prowse and believes he can play a key part in midfield, an area where the club have been looking to strengthen in the window.

Time to roll out the ‘like a new signing’ klaxon!

The Athletic reports that Crystal Palace have turned down a significant offer from Tottenham for Marc Guehi.

Ange Postecoglou is eager for another body to come through the door after Radu Dragusin was injured against Elfsborg last week, while their defensive record overall leaves much to be desired.

Sunderland will only allow Tommy Watson’s proposed transfer to Brighton to proceed if Simon Adingra moves in the opposite direction.

The Seagulls have seen an £8.5m offer plus add-ons rejected for the 18-year-old winger, who is rated as one of the most exciting prospects outside the Premier League.

However, Mail Sport can reveal that Sunderland want Ivorian wideman Adingra, if they are to accept an offer from Brighton. That deal would likely be a loan with an obligation to buy if the Black Cats win promotion to the top flight.

Brighton have already rejected a £20m offer from Marseille for Adingra and it is thought they do not want to let him go this window.

Manchester City are in talks to try and sign Porto midfielder Nico Gonzalez. He has a release clause of £50million but they could negotiate a lower fee.
