EXCLUSIVEFinishing touches made to DJ Calvin Harris' dream mansion in the Cotswolds where he plans to set up home with TV presenter wife Vick Hope
Superstar DJ Calvin Harris could be finally settling for a quiet life after building his dream home - a magnificent country manor house in the Cotswolds.
Harris, 41, is putting the finishing touches on the mansion where he plans to set up home with TV presenter wife Vick Hope.
The multi-millionaire - who has produced a string of hits for some of the world’s biggest pop stars - has won praise from locals and planners after demolishing an ‘ugly’ post-war property and building a grand ‘Cotswold country house’ in its place.
He hired one the Royal Family’s favourite architects to build a home fit for a king and now plans to swap rave culture for agriculture - with the couple scheduled to move in over the summer.
Teams of builders are currently working on the stunning three-storey property which is set in a remote location on the outskirts of a desirable Gloucestershire village.
One workman told MailOnline: ‘This is Calvin Harris’ new home. There’s no expense spared and it’s going to be amazing.
‘The best thing is he won’t have a neighbour in sight when he moves in, just a decent pub down the road.’
The worker added: ‘He’s hoping it will be finished by August but that’s highly unlikely. It’s a big project and there’s an army of us working here. We’re doing our best to get it done for him as soon as possible.’

Silke Bruening, a volunteer at the village’s only shop, said: ‘If he comes into our shop we’ll treat him as a fellow resident and not a celebrity.
‘We hope he engages in community life, but we respect that he has his own busy life to lead.’
But local Ken Mercer said he had mixed feelings about a multimillionaire star relocating to the desirable spot.
The retired Norfolk holiday cottage boss said: ‘Another big celebrity name coming to The Cotswolds who can afford to buy a massive plot of land which could house 20 homes for ordinary people.’
He added: ‘I can’t imagine Calvin will mix with local villagers when he moves here.’
Dumfries-born Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles, snapped up the property, which is set in 10 acres of land and has its own vineyard as well as a swimming pool and tennis court, for £3.6 million in 2019. It is registered in the name of law firm Farrar & Co.
In 2021, the One Kiss producer submitted an application to Cotswold District Council with plans drawn up by Ben Pentreath - who is said to be King Charles’ ‘go-to’ architect and has also worked for the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Mr Penreath specialises in constructing ‘new traditional buildings and country houses’ and the property is being built with Cotswold limestone in keeping with the charm and character of the region.
The bolthole is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - now renamed a National Landscape - where all planning applications are subject to careful scrutiny by local authorities.
But before the development was given the green light, planning officer Martin Perks wrote of the proposals: ‘In general terms, it is considered that the existing dwelling and associated buildings are not of any special architectural or historic interest.
’As a consequence, there is no objection to the demolition of the existing buildings and their replacement with a suitably designed development.
‘The overall composition of the development is considered to represent a sympathetic interpretation of a Cotswold country house.
‘The proportions, scale, size, detailing and materials are respectful of such development and represent a more sensitive interpretation of traditional Cotswold architecture than the current dwelling.’
As well as the main home, a cottage and pool house building were also knocked down as part of the plans.
The new mansion features a series of large ground floor rooms including kitchen, dining room and TV snug.

There is a separate staff quarters which has two bedrooms as well as a gym, two glass houses and other outbuildings including a garage block.
Further plans were approved to build a pond in the grounds and last year the council gave the go-ahead to add a timber clad hideout pod, to study wildlife, as well as a single-storey hot yoga studio at the bottom of the garden.
Harris and Hope, 35, are expected to be doing some farming on their new estate which will have woodland gardens, vegetable beds and a working kitchen garden when work is completed.
And they may feel at home among the A-list celebrities who have sought secluded retreats in the Cotswolds.
Harris’ ex Taylor Swift rented a £3,000-a-night property in the area during her recent sell-out tour while Liam Gallagher rented a £19,000-a-month Downton Abbey-style country mansion in the Cotswolds as he prepares to go back on the road with Oasis.
An array of stars have bought second homes there including David and Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Moss, Stella McCartney and Prue Leith.
To further the couple’s Royal connections, there’s King Charles’ Highgrove Estate and Gatcombe Park where Princess Anne and daughter Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall live.

Jeremy Clarkson’s farm is located in the Cotswolds while most recently former US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi moved into the area.
A local woman said: ‘I admire what he is doing to the house and the tradesmanship. It is difficult to get planning permission for anything here but it is very much in keeping with the traditional Cotswold style.
‘The house before was very ugly so he has done the village a favour by ripping it down and building a lovely new one.
‘Work has been going on for ages. It’s taking a very long time by there seems to be a lot going on there.’
Another local said: ‘When Calvin bought the place the couple living there had a vineyard but I’m not sure it he’s kept it or not.
‘There’s also a cottage on the premises and he asked the former owners to stay on in it, for security purposes, after they sold up.
‘They did for a while until he started knocking down the buildings.’
Harris is one of the world’s highest paid DJs who is also a musician and songwriter who has worked with stars including Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa and Justin Timberlake.
He’s already taken a step back from his jet-set lifestyle after selling his two multi-million pound mansions in Los Angeles in 2020 to enjoy a taste of the good life.
In 2022 he bought a 138-acre farm in Ibiza which produces fruit and veg, eggs and wine.
He operates the Spanish island’s largest organic farm at the property known as Terra Masia.
And it was there that Harris wooed former Strictly star Hope - reportedly proposing to her under a tree at the finca before the couple went on to tie the knot in a lavish Glastonbury-themed wedding in Alnwick, Northumberland, in September 2023.
Their new home may also prove the perfect place for Hope who has told of her love of the countryside.
She once said: ‘I adore being in nature and exploring outdoors.
‘I spent the first 10 years of my life in Newcastle, then we moved to the Northumberland countryside.
‘I am very grateful that I had so much fresh air and green growing up. It keeps your mental wellbeing and perspective in check.’
