Where are your favourite Myspace scene queens now?

Long live raccoon tails.

The pop music hub launched the careers of many of our faves, including My Chemical Romance and Lily Allen.

And long before content creators or digital influencers existed, Myspace was home to its own brand of celeb – Scene Queens.

Ah yes, the days when micro-celebrities with questionable dye jobs took pictures with each other, only to slate the other person in a chatroom four and a half seconds later.

But just what happened to our ill-fated online royalty after the social network sang its swan song?

Audrey Kitching

The pink-haired maven, seen above in all her Blingee glory, holds the honour of being one of the most well-known queens in the site’s history.

Bullet Magazine called her “one of the original Internet icons”, while Cosmopolitan said Kitching was  simultaneously a “fashion forward female” and a “fashion disaster”.

Having previously dabbled in modelling and fashion design, Kitching now focuses her, eh, energies into her healing crystal business, Crystal Cactus.

Kitching also performs aura clearings and chakra and karma balancing. Sure don’t we all?

Hanna Beth

A former friend of Audrey’s, Hanna has done fairly well for herself since abandoning the singular blonde extensions.

She won House Of DVF – an E! reality show which saw “young fashionistas” compete to become the next global ambassador for Diane Von Furstenberg’s eponymous line.

Millionaires

Millionaires were a musical group made up of Dani Artaud and sisters Melissa Marie and Allison Green.

Just three gals who were big fans of electro pop, money and alcohol. Their biggest hits include ‘Alcohol’, ‘Drinks On Me’ and ‘Just Got Paid Let’s Get Laid’.

Artaud left the band in 2011 (creative differences, I’d imagine). She now goes by the name of Snowblood and makes ‘fantasy pop’.

Good for her.

As for the two sisters, they continued their musical career with the release of their debut album, ‘Tonight’, in 2013. The album sold 697 copies in its first week.

Since then Melissa Marie has begun tattooing full-time, and is in the midst of founding her own clothing line.

Allison, meanwhile, works as a table girl at Drai Beachclub in Las Vegas, as well as producing online video workouts.

Jeffree Star

Jeffree Star began his career on Myspace as a musician, amassing over 5 million plays on his self-released music.

His debut album, ‘Beauty Killer’ was released in 2009.

His MySpace photoshoots would frequently get over 50,000 comments when posted

Nowadays, Jeffree is better known for his best-selling makeup line, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, and his YouTube videos.

He;s no stranger to controversy though. A series of videos from 12 years ago recently resurfaced, showing Star, then 19, saying some offensive racist comments that had many of his fans in an uproar.

Bizarrely, Kim Kardashian recently came to his defence concerning his past, after he questioned the quality of her contour powders on Twitter.

On Snapchat, she told her fans to “get off his ass” and stop “being so petty bringing up things in his past.”

However, she speedily rowed back on the comments, after being hit with a wave of criticism.

So I really wanted to apologize to you guys and my fans for defending a situation that I really didn’t know enough about [...] I just feel a bit naïve, and I do want to really apologize for me feeling like I had the right to say ‘get over it’ in a situation that involves racism.”

The DRAMZ.

Kiki Kannibal

Perhaps the most controversial of the queens, Kiki Kannibal began life on the site at the tender age of 14.

In 2011, Kiki spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about the abuse she suffered at the hands of online bullies.

I never thought I would run into these types of people … But on the Internet, you’re exposed to people that will do anything.”

She’s now living in Los Angeles pursuing a career. Not sure in what, but she’s pursuing it nonetheless.
