University of Colorado Boulder police closed part of the Boulder Creek Path just north of campus, including a bridge, to respond to a death in the area on Tuesday.
CUPD spokeswoman Christine Mahoney confirmed the death in an email. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the name and cause of death of the individual after notifying the next of kin.
Officials said they closed the creek path south of Athens Court, along with a Boulder Creek Path bridge connecting Athens Court to campus behind the CU Recreation Center, in a 9:54 a.m. CUPD alert. Police and medical personnel responded to the incident, according to the alert. CU police said at 10:30 a.m. that the area had reopened.
