The CIF Southern Section on Saturday morning released a revised version of pairings for the upcoming girls water polo playoffs.

Brackets originally were released Friday afternoon but later were removed from the CIF Southern Section site because “inconsistencies” were found. Those appear to be related to the power ratings that are being used for the first time to determine playoff divisions.

No Inland teams were among the eight teams selected for the Open Division, but three teams had final ratings that placed them in Division 1.

Alta Loma captured section championships in 2023 and 2024 and were the highest Inland team (No. 16) in the final rankings this season. The Braves play host to Marlborough in a first-round match Thursday evening.

Centennial, last year’s Division 3 champion, heads to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame for a Division 1 first-round match Thursday night, while Rancho Cucamonga opens at Harvard-Westlake that same evening.

Six Inland teams received a top-four seeding in their respective playoff divisions.

Santiago is the No. 2 seed in the Division 2 bracket and has a first-round bye. The Sharks host La Serna or Calabasas on Friday.

Murrieta Valley is seeded No. 3 in Division 3 and also has a first-round bye. The Nighthawks host Whittier or Flintridge Prep on Friday.

Beaumont is the No. 1 seed in the Division 4 bracket and has a first-round bye. The Cougars open at home Friday against Valley View or Crescenta Valley. San Dimas is seeded No. 4 in Division 4 and also has a bye. The Saints host Westridge or Tesoro on Friday evening.

Hemet is the No. 2 seed in Division 5 and opens at home Tuesday against Foothill Tech.

Moreno Valley is seeded No. 2 in Division 6 and has a first-round bye. The Vikings host La Sierra or Rowland on Friday.
