New format for UEFA competitions
Starting in the 2024-2025 season, UEFA club competitions are adopting a new format.
The expanded UEFA Champions League will be played in a single league with 36, rather than 32, teams. This increases the number of matches significantly, from 137 to 203. Likewise, both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League will start with 36 teams in a single league.
