VINTON — Anyone curious about the latest renovations in the old American Legion Building will have a chance for a glimpse next week. The Well, located at 417 First Ave will be hosting a Christmas Open House on Thursday, Nov. 21, in conjunction with the Lighted Holiday Parade in downtown Vinton. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. to give folks a chance to glimpse the remodel and learn more about the mission now happening inside this historic building, which was destroyed by fire in September of 2005.
“Whether you want to see the teen coffee bar, explore the building, grab free cookies and hot cocoa or just need a place to hang out before the parade, we look forward to seeing you and your families. Everyone is welcome,” The Well said.
According to The Well’s website at thewellvinton.com, this is a vibrant and revitalized space for High School Students seeking a haven for study, games, and camaraderie, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter in our community’s social landscape.”
Funded by Blessed Hope Community Church, The Well serves as both a religious center and an after-school hangout for High Schoolers. Complete with big comfy couches and chairs for studying and hanging out, a place to play basketball and foursquare pickleball floor, and a coffee bar that also serves ice cream, energy drinks, and old-fashioned sodas, the space is intended to provide teens “a supportive space for spiritual growth.”
