Bresnahan doesn’t support services that aid constituents

Editor: I recently wrote to U.S. Rob Bresnahan, R-08, Dallas Twp.,  concerning the cuts to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. My concern was this agency protects his constituents from unfair practices and monetary loses as a result of scams and fraud committed by banks, companies and criminals. The CFPB provides an avenue of recourse for recovery of lost funds.

He responded with “I am concerned about the CFPB’s broad authority and lack of Congressional oversight.” Really? This is the agency you are going to take a Congressional stand on, while you sit back and let DOGE destroy government agencies your constituents rely on without any “Congressional oversight?”

The government we need you to stand for is the staff and agencies that are cut to the point they cannot provide the services we need.  We don’t need your rhetoric. We don’t need Elon Musk taking a chainsaw to our government. We need people to answer the phone at the Social Security offices. We need people on the VA suicide hotlines. We need the Department of Education to fund our schools. These and many others-are the things we need you to stand for. Your words mean nothing without action.
