Lions' Ennis Rakestraw: Doesn't practice after return from IR
Rakestraw (hamstring/illness) was a non-participant in practice Tuesday.
Rakestraw landed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury in late November and hasn't played since. He had his practice window opened last Thursday during the Lions' off week (the team had a first-round playoff bye), but he wasn't able to participate in Detroit's first official practice since he was designated to return. It's important to note, however, that Rakestraw is currently dealing with an illness, and that may have been more responsible than the hamstring issue for his absence from practice Tuesday.

Lions' Patrick O'Connor: Sits out practice Tuesday
O'Connor (calf) didn't practice Tuesday.
O'Connor hurt his calf during the Lions' Week 18 matchup against Minnesota, and though Detroit had a first-round playoff bye, he hasn't recovered enough to take part in practice. The veteran defensive end will presumably need to log at least one practice session before the end of the week in order to have a chance of suiting up in the Lions' divisional-round matchup versus Washington on Saturday. If O'Connor can't play, Jonah Williams may be asked to step up and log more defensive snaps than usual.

Lions' Terrion Arnold: Estimated as full participant
Arnold (foot) was listed as a full participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report.
Arnold exited the Lions' Week 18 regular-season finale with the foot injury and had to be carted to the locker room, but he avoided a serious injury and will be good to go for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the Commanders.

Lions' David Montgomery: Gauged as full practice participant
The Lions listed Montgomery (knee) as a full participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice.
Though the Lions didn't take the field for a traditional practice coming off a bye week in the opening round of the playoffs, Montgomery's listed full participation seemingly supports the notion that the running back will be ready to go for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Commanders. Given that Montgomery missed the final three contests of the regular season due to an MCL sprain in his right knee, he could be asked to handle a more limited role out of the backfield in the Lions' postseason opener than he taken on prior to suffering the injury. Second-year tailback Jahmyr Gibbs thrived as the Lions' clear lead option out of the backfield during Montgomery's absence and still projects to get the larger share of the touches Saturday, though Montgomery's bruising running style and ability to contribute as a receiver will make him a welcome addition to the offense. Montgomery made 14 appearances during the regular season, carrying 185 times for 775 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding 36 catches for 341 yards on 38 targets.
