Leslie Jones is not holding back when it comes to her experiences on SNL.
In case you forgot, Leslie was a writer and cast member on the long-running sketch show from 2014 to 2019.
At one point, Leslie regularly appeared in a series of digital shorts that featured fellow SNL writer and cast member Kyle Mooney. The segments depicted the two of them as in a relationship, and (spoiler alert) it ultimately culminated in their marriage.
During a recent appearance on Touré Show, Leslie did not have nice things to say about the unnamed director of those sketches. "The guy who would direct those was a fucking asshole," she said. "And I don't give a fuck if you see this... You still are probably a fucking dickhead. A fucking narcissistic dickhead."
"He's just, like, one of the white boys who thought that he's doing fucking Shakespeare," she added. "No, this is a fucking sketch, and you're not funny, and you're not creating nothing beautiful. You're just being an asshole with this tedious fuck shit."
"It's, like, the way a person can look at you that you just, like, 'Yeah, I know you're calling me a [n-word]. I know you're calling me a [n-word].' Because he was a Mormon, too."
Leslie went on to claim that, when Tiffany Haddish hosted the show in 2017, she and Tiffany almost physically assaulted the director in question. "Me and Tiffany almost fucked him up one night," she said.
Leslie claims that the incident took place while they were filming the below segment, which Entertainment Weekly notes actually aired on May 13, 2017 as part of an episode hosted by Melissa McCarthy. Tiffany hosted the show on Nov. 11, 2017, in which a separate segment with Leslie and Kyle was included.
Leslie claimed that the main issue was the lateness of the shoot, which was taking place the night before SNL was set to air. "We're like, 'What the fuck? Why is it taking so fucking long?'" she recalls, claiming that the director insisted they were waiting for SNL creator Lorne Michaels to arrive on set to shoot his segment.
Leslie claims that she then attempted to walk off set and go home for the day, partially because she had cut her hand on the wedding dress she was wearing — and that's when the conflict with the director started.
"This motherfucker was like, 'What makes you so fucking special?'" she alleged. "And I was like, 'Who the fuck you talking to?' 'You, I'm talking to you. What makes you so fucking special? Lorne is this, this, and this.' And I said, 'Motherfucker, I know you're not fucking talking to me. What makes me special is that the fucking sketch is about me and Kyle, not you. So what the fuck?'"
Leslie claimed that, at this point in the conflict, she threatened to physically assault the director. "I was like, 'Yo, you need to step off because I'm about to fuck you up,'" she recalled. "And, like, I fucked up dudes before. My dad was an Army man. He has taught me too much, because all I was thinking was what I was going to hit first. And he got this big-ass Adam's apple... That [n-word] will not be able to fucking stand up. So I'm squaring off. I'm ready to bring my head up to his chin. I'm ready, right? I'm yelling, like going off, like, 'Get the fuck out my face.' And he kept stepping to me."
This is, allegedly, where Tiffany came in. "Tiffany comes out the dressing room because that was her week [hosting]," Leslie alleged. "She was like, 'What's up, cuz?' Like, that's my girl! 'What's up, cuz? Who the fuck talkin' shit? Who talkin' shit?' I said…'We about to fuck him up.'"
Incredibly, they still managed to finish the shoot. "Do you know we had to still go and shoot after that?" she said. "So this motherfucker would come over and try to give a direction....I was like, 'Don't you put your motherfucking hand on me.' And then the camera would come on."
"That night was crazy."
Uh, it sure sounds like it! I'll be real, this sounds like the type of story where we're probably going to hear more about it in the future, so stay tuned.
