  • Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are costarring in the film adaptation of "Wicked" this year.
  • They attended the 2024 Academy Awards in dresses channeling their iconic characters.
  • Erivo wore a green dress referencing Elphaba, while Grande wore a pink gown for Glinda.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande walked the 2024 Oscars red carpet on Sunday in gowns that paid homage to their starring roles in the upcoming movie "Wicked."

When Erivo arrived, her green dress, designed by Louis Vuitton, appeared to be a reference to the green-skinned Elphaba, also known to "Wizard of Oz" fans as the Wicked Witch of the West.

She accessorized with razor-sharp green-tipped nails and emerald jewelry.

When Grande walked the red carpet a few moments later, she did it in a bubblegum-pink Giambattista Valli gown with an oversize, poofy cape.

It was a perfect match for her "Wicked" character, Glinda the Good Witch, who loves everything pink.

She added a teardrop-shaped necklace with a pink gem and matching earrings by Tiffany & Co. to complete the look.

Erivo and Grande are set to present an award during the ceremony, taking their friendship on-screen for the first time.

"Wicked: Part One" is set to come out in theaters in November.
